....Perry wrote in a letter dated Wednesday, “According to numerous recent media reports, American citizens and organizations, together with a coalition of violent anti-Israeli organizations from other countries, have organized efforts to breach Israel’s Maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip as early as this week.”

He continued, “The act of funding, supporting, organizing and engaging in these efforts appears to constitute participation in a naval expedition against a people with whom the United States is at peace,” as well as material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization and other violations.

Perry said at least two of the ships are registered in Delaware, including one named “The Audacity of Hope,” which was the title of President Barack Obama’s second book.

The letter concludes, “I respectfully request that the U.S. Department of Justice take immediate steps to investigate, enjoin and bring to justice all parties found to be in violation of U.S. law by their participation in these efforts.”

Now what in the world would possess a state governor to write such a letter concerning such international affairs?

I wonder....

Why doesn’t he write a letter to TSA to “cease and desist”?

August 13, 2009 Gov. Perry Receives Defender of Jerusalem Award "JERUSALEM – Gov. Rick Perry has received the Defender of Jerusalem Award, which is given to public figures who have demonstrated support and commitment to the state of Israel and its capitol, Jerusalem. The governor accepted the award while on his trip to Israel, where he also met with Israeli President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and business and academic leaders.

“I have long supported the right of a Jewish state to exist in the Middle East and firmly believe in the protection and preservation of democratic states in that part of the world,” Gov. Perry said. “After visiting several sacred and historic sites, meeting with business, civic and government leaders and seeing the day-to-day lives of the people on my trips to Israel, I am even more convinced that a safe, secure Israel is an essential part of stability in this part of the world.”

The Defender of Jerusalem Award was created in 2008 by Guma Aguiar, head of the Lillian Jean Kaplan Foundation, as a tribute to dignitaries within Israel and around the world who have demonstrated strong support for the people of Jerusalem and Israel. The first award was presented to Israeli President Shimon Peres.

Gov. Perry continues to be a staunch supporter of Israel. After a trip to the area in 2007, the governor supported Texas’ divestment from companies that do business with Iran, a main opponent of Israeli freedom. Additionally, as a result of meetings with Israeli leadership during the governor and first lady’s visit to Israel in 2007, the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce was created to help launch future commercial interests and solidify the strong business and cultural connections between the two states.

Texas is Israel’s fourth largest American trading partner. Texas and Israel’s commercial relationship began with agriculture and natural resources, and has grown in recent years to include a variety of major business sectors, including information and communication technologies, aerospace and defense, medical technologies, homeland security initiatives and renewable energies.

The governor is scheduled to return to Texas on Saturday."

http://www.jewishpolicycenter.org/1376/gov-rick-perry-says-texas-can-learn-from-israeli

August 2009 — “Gov. Rick Perry compared Mexico to the Gaza strip, saying Texas can learn from Israeli security efforts after touring a town that has been hit by Palestinian rockets.

Perry, who has demanded a heightened U.S. troop presence along the Rio Grande, went to Israel’s border with Gaza earlier with week and was briefed by Israeli Army officials.

“Kassam rockets have killed 28 Israelis over the last eight years. Well, 1,000 people have been killed in Juarez since the beginning of the year,” the governor told the Jerusalem Post in Friday’s editions, referring to the drug-related killings across the border from El Paso. “So we’re trying to find ways to secure that border, because just like it’s important to Israelis to keep heavy security on their border with Gaza, it’s important to citizens of Texas to keep out the illegal activities that are going on with drugs.”

Perry’s office has been mum about his exact whereabouts during the trip. His wife Anita, their son Griffin, and Griffin’s fiancee are reportedly with him, and he returns to Texas on Saturday.

The Gaza-Mexico comparison was far more strident than the tone struck by President Barack Obama on Monday in Guadalajara, Mexico, at the so-called “Three Amigos Summit” with the leaders of Mexico and Canada, although border violence was among the topics there and Obama pledged ongoing support in Mexico’s fight with drug cartels.

“We went to Sderot and saw the police station with all the Kassam rockets piled up, we saw playgrounds that had to be covered from rocket fire. It’s a powerful place,” Perry told the Post, referring to the town near Gaza that took the brunt of attacks in recent years.

While in Israel, Perry also has met with President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and, according to his office, visited “sacred and historical sites,” including Jerusalem’s Old City, according to the Post.”

Perry is taking it to the Obama Administration.

_____________________________________________________

If Perry really wants to take it to the Obama Administration, then he can write such a letter to Sec. Nappy regarding her illegal immigrant friendly policies and her anti-American Gestapo agents (TSA).

Better yet, Perry has the power and resources (Texas National Guard) to take matters into his own hand.

I say we fire TSA goons and place Guardsmen at the airports to secure our State. And enable the TNG to handle the elemination of illegals that our Federal Agents can’t do.

Very simple. If Perry took these steps; he’d be elected in as our next prez. In a landslide.

C-130 Rick Perry: He flew the world before politics "........Perry could count on one hand the number of trips he had taken out of his home state by the time he graduated from Texas A&M University, but everything changed when he joined the Air Force.

Flying C-130s, Perry lived in Germany and Saudi Arabia. He flew in Central and South America, North Africa and all over Europe.

"I saw all of these different types of governments and I made the connections to how the people acted and looked, and it became abundantly clear to me that, at that particular point in time, that America was this very unique place and that our form of democracy was very rare," Perry said. " ... That was the greatest gift I received from my years of being in the military, and they really shaped my outlook on the rest of my life.".....

Perry’s vaccination order still stoking fires

AUSTIN — Blowback continued at the Capitol on Wednesday over Gov. Rick Perry’s order mandating
that schoolgirls be vaccinated against a sexually transmitted disease linked to cervical cancer.

Critics rip Perry’s vaccine mandate
Governor rejects opponents’ calls to reverse order

AUSTIN — Gov. Rick Perry stood firm Monday against a political firestorm generated by his
order that sixth-grade girls be inoculated against a sexually transmitted virus linked to cervical cancer.

Social conservatives from Texas to Washington called on Perry to reverse his order making
Texas the first state to require the vaccine, saying the mandate makes sex seem permissible
and that parents should be the ones to decide whether to immunize their daughters.
And several Texas lawmakers expressed outrage at Perry for circumventing the legislative process.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/26/us/26texas.html

The vaccine, Gardasil, is manufactured by Merck, which was represented in Austin by the
lobbyist Mike Toomey, who was chief of staff for Mr. Perry from 2002 to 2004.

http://www.lifenews.com/2011/06/13/rick-perry-hits-obama-on-abortion-before-possible-gop-campaign/

...At the United for Life event at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, Perry received a standing ovations following his remarks, during which he said “Every life is precious.”

He hit Obama for overturning the Mexico City Policy during his first week in office. That’s a policy that prevents taxpayers from funding groups like the Planned Parenthood abortion business under international programs. Planned Parenthood has promoted and performed abortions in other countries and the Mexico City Policy, first instituted under President Ronald Reagan, cuts off their funding internationally and directs it to programs that provide legitimate help and support for poor people in other nations.

Perry said that, under Obama “our federal tax dollars can now be used to fund abortion all over the world. With the stroke of a pen, abortion essentially became a U.S. foreign export.”

On embryonic stem cell research, he said Obama was “turning the remains of unborn children into nothing more than raw material,” according to an AP report. Obama is ignoring “the overriding responsibility of every government — that is to protect citizens at every stage of their lives, especially those who cannot protect themselves,” Perry said....

“...Perry has pleased pro-life advocates in Texas many times with signing pro-life legislation — most recently signing an ultrasound bill allowing women to see them before an abortion and hopefully changing their minds on it. He has been strongly supported by pro-life groups. Perry supported or signed into law the Women’s Right to Know Act and the Prenatal Protection Act in 2003, parental consent law in 2005, and funding for alternatives to abortions in 2007 and 2009.

*****************

June 27, 2011 — “AUSTIN, Texas — Texas lawmakers have approved a massive health care bill that includes new restrictions on abortions. The measure now goes to the governor. The 185-page bill allows for new health care collaboratives that allow hospitals, doctors and insurers to work together in new ways. It also allows Texas to enter into interstate health care compacts for Medicaid. But the most controversial matters concerned new restrictions on abortions that divided Republicans.

In signing contracts to provide family planning services, the bill bans the state from working with organizations that provide elective abortions, or affiliate with those that do. An attempt to defund Planned Parenthood. The bill also cuts state funding to county hospital districts that use local tax money to finance elective abortions. Travis County is the only district that does so.”
