PRINCETON, NJ -- Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, who formally announced her presidential candidacy Monday in her hometown of Waterloo, Iowa, enters the race with 69% name recognition among Republicans and ties for the highest Positive Intensity Score of any GOP candidate Gallup tracks.
Bachmann finds herself in a relatively positive position among Republicans as she begins her formal campaign. Her name recognition is up to 69% for the two-week period of June 13-26, having climbed from 52% in late February/early March. This places her fifth among the most well-known Republicans Gallup measures, behind Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, and Ron Paul, but well ahead of Tim Pawlenty, Jon Huntsman, and several other competitors. Bachmann's Positive Intensity Score of 24 ties with Herman Cain's as the highest such score of any candidate, and is her highest to date. Bachmann's ability to maintain her relatively high Positive Intensity Score as she has become better known distinguishes her from several of her competitors.
Cain's name recognition is also up, from 21% in March to 46% today, although his Positive Intensity Score is down slightly from 28 -- his highest -- a few weeks ago.
Romney is widely considered the front-runner in the GOP race, based on his strong positioning on various trial heat measures, including Gallup's. Romney's name recognition among Republicans is 85% and has stayed roughly the same all year. The former Massachusetts governor, who plans to travel to London in July to solicit campaign contributions, is generating slightly less enthusiasm among Republicans now than previously. His Positive Intensity Score of 15 is down from 18 last week and 19 the week before. More specifically, 18% of Republicans who recognize Romney say they have a strongly favorable opinion of him, while 3% have a strongly unfavorable opinion.

Seems to me if one was a serious voting citizen, they would of researched all the available candidates and KNOW WHAT THEIR FRIGGIN NAMES ARE!
Otherwise stuck on stupid.
Hissy Matthews recent attacks on her and Christianity are an example of the mindless rage and fear she engenders in the MSM.
My feelings for Bachmann are hardening. Dont like her. Every day she just gets my goat. sorry, just sayin
Wait until the MSM tears her down just like they did Palin. The country is stuck on stupid.
That is why she is in the “lead” in these “polls” all of a sudden.
Take the spotlight off of Romney, and then train the guns on her.
Don’t be concerned about MB imposing on fear on the media. Any attack would have starter long before this. So far - all they are attacking is the gaffes she is giving them. She’s having a cake walk.
Sounds like Ed Rollins has been busy inflating her.
Every day she just gets my goat. sorry, just sayin

DITTO!
“The country is stuck on stupid”;
The next Greece. Honestly when your country is broke, and it’s economic condition is decided by the likes of commiecrats from California and Nevada, I don’t see that these elections mean much except to decide how we’re going to be screwed next time.
Its getting worse, Morning Joe just now they think Palin is so over the top jealous of Bachmann she is trying so hard to stay relevent.

Based on many of the Palin supporter posts on every Bachmann thread, I’m starting to agree.
Maybe she's the official "GOP Decoy" candidate. I believe that the party insiders want Romney. The GOP never ceases to find new ways to compromise with the enemy.
Im a Palin supporter! I am NOT on board with Bachmann at all. Can assure you not jealous but very disheartened by the way she is being handled and handling her questions.
According to the chart Gov. Palin is "in the lead" on name recognition. She is behind Bachmann and Cain in "positive intensity".
One can’t get really jealous if just for a movie of you, 500 people showed outside it and up to 1000 attended afterward for a Meet and greet but the other woman “official Presidential” announcement in her own hometown there appeared around 200 supporters
I don’t think anyone has to look at Bachmann as the enemy because she is not. I’d be proud to vote for her. That said I don’t believe she will be the nominee but if Sarah decides not to run I most certainly would support Bachmann. There are only two candidates I will never vote for even in the general and those two are Romney and Huntsman. There are several I won’t have to worry about Gingrich, Sanatorum, and Pawlenty. Cain appears to be joining that group too and the moment that happenned was when he made the stupid “Case closed!” statement when asked about Romney’s credibility. Now he is bleeding campaign staff like Gingrich. However he was a big Romney supporter in 2008 and a big bailout appologist which I think has hurt him. Cain is probably one of my biggest disappointments in this campaign season so far. I expected much more from him.
Instead the bigger dose I get the less I like him. Ron Paul is a chronic disappointment because the man insists on running like a libertarian which unfortunately is running to lose. Unfortunately he didn’t learn anything from his son’s Senate victory. I like him and personally I’d be happy to see someone like him get elected but he won’t be and those who support him should realize that and instead choose one of the other antiestablishment candidates.
What is the Morning Joe? Palin had all this planned far in advance and Bachmann and Palin are birds of a feather. I’ll be surprised if this isn’t building up to the first ever 100% Chick Ticket. Many of us hear have offerred it up in jest and to needle the left but it could happen.
