If the felon has recently been released from prison, there is every chance that he has a parole officer or at least somewhere that he is supposed to live for X months or years.

Do all you can to find who the parole officer is and find where the man is supposed to be. Then have the police go there.

I simply cannot wrap my head around an immediate family member going missing. I just cant. So praying for PEACE and COMFORT for you as well.
