A new statewide survey in Alaska shows President Obama beating Sarah Palin in her home state in a head-to-head matchup. Continue Reading
The poll, by Hayes Research Group, had a sample size of 500 likely voters and a 4.4-point margin-of-error.
Still, it showed Obama's support as stronger than Palin's in a horserace.
Some 34 percent said they felt "strong" in backing Obama, while 6 percent were "not so strong," and 2 percent were undecided but leaning toward him.
Palin, Alaska's former governor and the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2008, had 25 percent of likely voters saying they felt "strong" about supporting her, while 6 percent were "not so strong," and 5 percent were unsure but leaning toward her.
Still, there were a large number of undecided voters in the survey, with 7 percent saying they'd support another candidate, and 16 percent saying they remained undecided.

You won’t get trash for saying Palin can’t beat Obama because most already know you support “somebody else” based on your previous posts and you don’t necessarily like Palin anyway
“So she had an 88% approval rating while governor and now she couldnt beat a slow motion train wreck. This just doesnt smell quite right.”
That was before she quit on them.
Just saying.
Probably true. She’s my first choice but I don’t think she can win and don’t think she’ll run. If nominated, the GOP honchos (a/k/a morons) wouldn’t get behind her. They started marginalizing her a year or so ago.
Nothing to get excited about, it’s obvious they polled the same democrats who voted for the RINO Murcowski.
Democrats will vote for anything wearing a Democrat label. They would vote for a portable toilet that had Obama’s name on it instead of being marked “Women”
Outside of Fairbanks and Anchorage where the libs live, Palin is very and still popular....polling is very hard come by in Alaska since so many people live so apart from each other, there is no way Obama would win Alaska
Vomit MSM talking points much?
“A new statewide survey in Alaska shows President Obama beating Sarah Palin in her home state in a head-to-head matchup.”
At what? Golf? Give Palin 4 a side and I think she could take him.
What idiot organization does a survey of 500 people. Enough said.
Politico is the most distrusted news org right after the NYT. Ben Quayle says so...

With Obama’s war on energy, I’m still not buying it.
Alaska has strange politics, mostly because it is built on the machine, which is why it is so shocking Palin became governor to begin with. The Republican and Democrat parties both have their establishments and the members are fiercely loyal with the exception of the rare rebellion. Considering the state is so small, it is possible that the Republican and Democratic parties, who both liked had reason to like her when she was Governor, decided to sabotage her.
It’s like Tammany Hall up there, guys. Don’t listen to them.
If that is true the MSM will start championing her to be the nominee, right?
If I wanted to rig a poll, I would just commission a series of polls and cherry pick the results I liked. People are corrupt. News organizations are corrupt. Take everything with a grain of salt. (Just remember the CBS Bush memos).
Man, you are trashed.
AK is beautiful, but there are some places look like the poor parts of Appalachia or the rural South. The combination of its location and restrictions placed on developing its natural resources have made it more like a colony than a state.
AK should be red and will be come the General Election. Is was a tough pick-up for McCain, but if the weakest of the RINO’s can get it, Palin would not have any issues with it either.
(Wait, what, I’m a Bachmann guy, did I just say something good about Palin?) Um, yes.
Only caveat with this poll. It could hold some truth to it. The GOP factions in AK are split, even moreso than NV. They have some strange makeup of how they do party affiliations in the State Senate I haven’t been able to figure out. While Tea Party is one faction, it seems to have its share of RINOs, Establishment types, and libertarians as well. This is how Murkowski was able to survive the challenge from Miller in the general.
Can’t you just smell the fear and desperation?
Heh....Sarah isn’t even in the race, but they have to conduct a head to head poll between Bozo and Sarah, just to show her who’s boss. No doubt, it was slanted HARD to make it come out like they wanted.
I don’t recall seeing a poll like this between Bozo and any of the other Republican candidates. Pretty telling, I’d say.
I found little support for Palin, and R's in general.
Great place, but the politics is heavily invested in entitlements.
