Running late, but here we be!
Live we are. Opens with Michelle O soundbite
They’ll recycle people if they get the chance.
It was going well.. now it's all about maligning competitors. I do not recall anything like this in almost 70 years of listening -- and being old enough to understand.
He's talked about how Arthur Godfrey was a mean man.. I cannot say I remember hearing the show when he fired Julius Larosa on air but I do remember and liked Larosa before that.
I remember Godfrey's "Too Fat Polka (She's Too Fat For Me)". Stations eventually stopped playing it -- or at least stopped taking requests to play it for someone.
Are those things that made Godfrey mean? Or is Savage obsessed with past competitors? I like to hear his opinion of Joe Pyne -- someone that Savage "stole" stuff from.
Sorry -- for me it's just getting old to hear about his competitors, besides how does that help his well-deserved stellar image? ..and we have free speech recently confirmed here. :)
What point? ENOUGH ALREADY WITH BASHING CONSERVATIVE WOMEN IN POLITICS! (and I might add.. enough already! bashing conservative black men! Amos, Cain and Andy? Stepin' Fetchit Cain? The N-word is next?)
Take Imus.. please!
I am tired of hearing him malign the conservative women in politics. He does allow that Bachmann is not stupid -- that's Palin -- but Bachmann gets her facts wrong, says stupid things, and is just plain goofy. Says Imus.
Now he's attacking her for taking so long to accept the apology. She has no sense of humor.. Wallace was over her head.. he was being humorous, she didn't get it. She should have laughed. Says Imus.
Here's a "conservative" man who adored Anthony Weiner (long-time frequent guest on the show) but I've never, never heard Imus say one nice thing about any conservative woman in politics. Conservative women like his wife and some others in the business.. yes he can be nice to them.
I intend to tune back when election 2012 is over. I had to leave the old radio show of Bill O'Reilly for similar reasons during the 2004 election. The reason? BOR was in love with Democrat what's his name and BOR attacked the swift boat Viet Nam vets daily. (Democrat what's his name is a long-time frequent guest on the Imus show and Imus favorite.)
“she needed to make a point.”
The ‘pubs alwasy seem afraid to fight back. The lamestream media will never love them unless they are rinos, so might as well fight back!
Legalize prostitution? I dunno. The fed/state taxes would just drive those so inclined to the illegal side.
Would it cut down on robberies/theft by female crack/meth addicts?
No.
Personally I oppose easing the drug laws.. unless they lift the age restrictions. Otherwise the problem continues for under-18 where much of it is today.
What would be the point?
They've aborted at lease one generation of Americans.. why not waste another generation with drugs for all ages? No big deal for the America-hating lefties.
Savage has become stuck on salacious stories-getting really OLD man

We aborted one generation and are drugging two more via legal drugs like ritalin/prozac and all the readily available illegal ones.
Salacious indeed. The statistics on illegal things are pretty iffy. How many people want to admit to them?
And on the Greek default debacle:
Person 1 “Saw a video of the Greece riots and they were tearing up a McDonalds. So appropriate!/sarc
Person 2 “Exactly, that’s idiotic, they have to torch the Parliament building”

Mcdonalds ain’t guarded by tanks, sez I
IMO.. no show prep. Mostly talks about stuff that he could discuss in a bar anytime. Rely entire upon his natural talent.
Far too often -- IMO and given these WWII-like times -- it sucks. It's "Fairness Doctrine" radio. I had decades of that sh*t but with some great talent in the Cincinnati area, for example -- Thomas and King if you were there.
He's doing it without trying (as only he could) .. and he's jealous of his competitors?!
They should be hating him. They have to work hard to stay on the air. All of 'em do.
(No it ain't easy, talk radio.. but with Savage's talents it ain't difficult for him.. boring at times but not difficult.)
3rd hour - 1st 5 min pretaped intro, then onto old calls...
Yup. next up, the interview, is my guess.
Do Levin and Limbaugh do entire 3 hour live shows ?
Yes.
and except for the most major of holidays they each have fill in hosts. There are some hosts who do rebroadcast portions of the same day's show; but they make no bones about it. The ones I know, they clearly say that it's a repeat from earlier in the show.
