A witness says he saw a group of teen boys tie two dogs to railroad tracks in Haltom City moments before a train ran over the animals Tuesday morning.
The witness told police he was in a wooded area near the First Baptist Chruch of Fort Worth on the 5100 block of Northeast Loop 820 when he saw the boys.
Cpl. Joe Heckfield, with the Haltom City Police Department, said investigators believe the dogs were already dead when they were hit by the train. Heckfield didn't elaborate as to what led police to that conclusion.
Officials said when officers arrived, the teens had already left the area. They are currently working to identify the witness and determine how many teens were involved.
Investigators are also trying to find out if the dogs were strays or if they had owners who may be searching for a missing animal.
Then why tie them to the tracks?
To destroy any evidence of prior ~torture~?
The only thing I could think of was so that some animal didn’t carry them off. But the whole thing makes little sense.
I sure hope the Police find those punks and determine the truth of the entire story. Throw the book at them, if guilty and fine the beegeezus out of them.
How many decades now have we been educating / training young ones to be more caring?
Instead of teaching what is right or wrong, the old ways were too rigid, there are all sorts of gray between the black and white ..... The new age generations are supposedly FEELing more compassionate, world peace-ful, and more likely to share.
Serial killers usually begin on animals. =/
Just out of curiosity, I wonder if the school these kids attended allowed them to play tug-of-war, dodge ball, or any of the other games deemed too “violent” for school children.
I think the sobs should be tied to RR tracks and face the same fate.
Monsters.
I totally agree. There's something deeply amiss in the brains of someone who engages in sick acts like that.
“Why tie dead dogs to the track?”
“To destroy any evidence of prior ~torture~?”
A dead dog will not get up an move. There would be no need to tie it.
Next week it will be Granny tied there. ‘No problem, she was already dead.’
Week after that, perhaps a congresscritter?
Perfect practice makes perfect.
Pure evil.
I agree - this isn’t the first really bad stuff they’ve done nor the last. Bastards.
They belong in jail - with people who aren’t as trusting as most dogs.
You mean after they die, their bodies should be placed on the RR tracks?
Why wait?
Who would tie dead dogs to a railroad track?
really bad headline. lol
make it look like the train killed them?
Often tied to zero or bad male role model in the home.
Without an older man to control teen boys they just run wild.
Dogs, generally speaking, are great. Better than the majority of people I’ve dealt with.
Find those punks and drive them down Main st with a bull whip at high noon on a Saturday.
Maybe they were waiting for the rest of the song, “and the and then along came jones”
Crappy area of Ft. Worth. Lots of white trash.
Why wait? So that the kids and the dogs , in your twisted world, are treated equally.
They were just dead dogs, for Petes sake.
I’ve handled a lot of dead aniamls, and in ways that probably would seem much more cruel. I sent thousands to be cut up into pet food. What am I to suffer?
