Washington - First, a disclaimer: The poll was completely unscientific. Some 160 tea partyers from around the country had gathered at the Washington headquarters of FreedomWorks, a conservative group that trains tea partyers in political organizing and advocacy. With reporters watching, the assembled activists were asked for a show of hands on the Republican presidential candidates.
The winner: Texas Gov. Rick Perry. He isnt a candidate yet, and its not certain he ever will be. But Governor Perrys victory is just one small indication that, were he to run, Perry would start with the goodwill of the GOPs most energetic wing.
Michele Bachmann, the Minnesota congresswoman who formally announced her presidential campaign Monday morning in Iowa, came in a close second. Ron Paul, the libertarian-leaning Texas congressman, came in third. Undecided also did well.

The Republican habit of nominating the next in line candidate is a thing of the past, before new media made it easier for newcomers to break through, says Mr. Young, who is sporting a big Perry 2012 President button.
Why Perry? He has the right attitude toward the federal government; he believes in the 10th amendment, which reserves power to the states; and he has long executive experience, 10-1/2 years as Texas governor, Young says.
People like cheerful candidates who can win, he adds...

Why do I get the feeling I’m being “Bushed” once again?
Because you are.
A show of hands is almost (but not quite) as meaningless as an online poll. Still Perry will be the instant front runner if he announces and I’d find it easy to support him.
That’s life
That’s what all the people say
You’re riding high in April
Shot down in May
But I know I’m gonna change that tune
When I’m back on top, back on top in June
I said that’s life
And as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks
Stomping on a dream
But I don’t let it, let it get me down
‘Cause this fine old world
It keeps spinning around
I’ve been a puppet, a pauper,
A pirate, a poet,
A pawn and a king,
I’ve been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing
Each time I find myself
Flat on my face
I pick myself up and get back in the race
That’s life
I tell you, I can’t deny it
I thought of quitting baby
But my heart just ain’t gonna buy it
And if I didn’t think it was worth one single try
I’d jump right on a big bird
And then I’d fly
I’ve been a puppet, a pauper,
A pirate, a poet,
A pawn and a king,
I’ve been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing
Each time I find myself laying
Flat on my face
I just pick myself up and get back in the race
That’s life
That’s life, and I can’t deny it
Many times I thought of cutting out
But my heart won’t buy it
But if there nothing shaking coming this here July
I’m going to roll myself up in a big ball
And die...
Flying C-130s, Perry lived in Germany and Saudi Arabia. He flew in Central and South America, North Africa and all over Europe.
"I saw all of these different types of governments and I made the connections to how the people acted and looked, and it became abundantly clear to me that, at that particular point in time, that America was this very unique place and that our form of democracy was very rare," Perry said. " ... That was the greatest gift I received from my years of being in the military, and they really shaped my outlook on the rest of my life." ......

Critics rip Perrys vaccine mandate
Governor rejects opponents calls to reverse order
AUSTIN Gov. Rick Perry stood firm Monday against a political firestorm generated by his
order that sixth-grade girls be inoculated against a sexually transmitted virus linked to cervical cancer.
Social conservatives from Texas to Washington called on Perry to reverse his order making
Texas the first state to require the vaccine, saying the mandate makes sex seem permissible
and that parents should be the ones to decide whether to immunize their daughters.
And several Texas lawmakers expressed outrage at Perry for circumventing the legislative process.

The vaccine, Gardasil, is manufactured by Merck, which was represented in Austin by the
lobbyist Mike Toomey, who was chief of staff for Mr. Perry from 2002 to 2004.
Gardisal HPV vaccine EO had Opt-Out.
May 09, 2007: Three months after Gov. Rick Perry ignited a firestorm by issuing an executive order to require schoolgirls to be vaccinated against the human papillomavirus, he is letting a bill go into law that will undo his mandate.
HELLO Diogenesis ----
This is FREEDOM WORKS!
Hear the "crickets?"
Hi.
Opt out. Shmot out.
Gardasil Perry FORCED a dangerous drug on chaste
children as he received $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
from BIG Pharma.
Has he apologized? Where? When?
No matter how many times that lie is told, it's still a lie.
He was just on Beck, sure looked impressive with the conservative fortitude to stand up against nobama and the idiotic liberals.
Following Perry was Ron Paul, who actually was making some sense and not acting like a wildman. Don't get me wrong Paul will never get nominated or elected, hopefully some of his saner ideas will become incorporated with ones actually electable.
With all the vitriol from those with Perry Derangement Syndrome posting the false information, wonder who they support at this point? Mutt or Paul?
Probably Obama.
The candidate that takes the strongest stance, backed with specifics, against illegal immigration gets my vote. By the way Romney is for comprehensive immigration reform(amnesty).
