Sarah Palin's camp is reaching out to activists and operatives in Iowa about setting up meetings while she's in the state Tuesday for the screening of a documentary about her - including with Chuck Laudner, a former Iowa GOP executive director and prominent conservative.
Laudner confirmed to POLITICO he'd gotten a call from Palin's advisers either Friday or over the weekend asking about meeting with him while she's in Pella for the screening of "The Undefeated."

OK. When is Gov. Palin going to announce she’s running for the old White House?
What’s the latest possible date she announce?
What information is she trying to ascertain before making a decision?
Thoughts?

I’d be curious to hear from freepers who have actually participated in the Iowa GOP caucus as to how her strategy will work. Can she truly play above the fray till late summer, as it were? I think the rest of us assume she can, but I’d like to hear some legitimate “on the ground” in Iowa commentary.

Last dates: November 2011.

Nobody knows except Sarah and maybe Todd.
I would guess in by September at latest. There are filing deadlines for primaries starting in October.
I’m for Sarah whenever she announces.
Game On!

If Perry runs, and he will, Palin won’t run.
And Perry/Bachman won’t happen because it’s too much like McCain/Palin.

If you read the article in full, there are serious doubts that these meetings will produce any results. This Conservative activist interviewed in Iowa said that Bachmann already has the support of Rep. King. That's not good for Palin. The activist himself was slightly dismissive to her run.
"I'd be interested to see if she's serious about a run," he said. "That'd be (question) A, and B, would it be too late. That's what it feels like, anyway. It's not too late now, (but if you) dance around until fall" it will be.
Does anyone know who Chuck Laudner is? I always have my radar up on Politico pieces.

Let’s just say that WE will all know in October where she must by then file a bid for the Iowa Caucus deadline....... may be the legal deadline that she was talking about last months,

It all building up for her to run. The book sales, this movie, etc. If she doesn’t at least try to run, her backers will be so deflated, she wouldn’t be able to play “kingmaker” for Todd at the Wasilla Burger King.

I read the article in full. The main thing to take away from it is that Sarah is reaching out to IA politicos.

You do realize this is NOT going to make some Freepers real happy here. They are so invested and so positive she is not running. Next thing you know, we’ll be hearing stuff like, “How dare she step on michele bachmann like this!”
“Look how disloyal she is!”
“She’s STEALING michele’s votes!”
Oh my.
