I think they suffered from an Egyptian-descended tradition of an elite literate class (priests and scribes) who were able to resist the “intrusion” of an “alien” alphabet. But that’s just a guess.

Like someone else proposed, let’s examine how “black” kids turn out when raised in a “white” culture.

I already posted a link to the Minnesota Transracial Adoption study. Plus there are hundreds of IQ studies that don't even measure outcome but raw ability.

But this whole debate comes down to one very simple question: Do you believe behavioral and cognitive traits have a genetic basis?

I don't believe one person when they tell me they don't accept that to be so, no matter how much they assert to the contrary.

People have been conditioned for three generations now to parrot that line. It is the ultimate taboo in our culture to assert that publicly and some just can't overcome all their known observations to state it or write it.

It is the epitome of a modern day Orwell's "crimethought" or "crimespeak". The conditioning is so strong the brain almost instinctively keeps people from "going there".

When you use good experimental controls, you can eliminate the correlation = causation error.

By the way, you don't need a control Sun for an experiment to know it's going to rise in the East. Some things you've seen so often, with a little common sense, it would be pointless to even do the experiment.

And then there are some things even tenured professors must tread lightly when studying. That's Frank Boaz's most lasting contribution. Lord knows his science was junk.

Ya know, its pretty hard to find ANY culture that didn’t have contact of one sort or another with Mediterranean cultures.
They’ve found ancient wrecks with amphora in the New World, for heaven’s sake... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1038045/posts

Maybe Australia and New Guinea?

“Take a hundred black infants and scatter them among a 100 middle class and white professional couples, and in 18 years the percentage of college graduates, professionals, etc. will be exactly the same as white”

That’s a liberal fantasy that numerous scientific case studies - studies that follow kids in exactly the kind of situations you describe - have discredited.

Someone’s IQ is what it is. It won’t rise significantly just because you “mix” the person with others of a higher IQ.

“I do not believe in genetic inferiority. I DO believe in cultural inferiority”

It’s not a matter of genetic “inferiority”, but rather, the reality that populations of a lower IQ cannot “raise themselves upward” to the degree that populations of a higher IQ can. Why was it that — until “the wheel” was introduced to them — that some populations could not “discover” even something as simple as that?

How many doctors have you run into with an IQ of 87?

I suggest you take a look at the post immediately preceding yours, post #53.

That graphic says it all.

Just sayin’...

Thought I had the /sarc but it didn't appear.

In other (unreported) news here's the Seattle weekend version:

Maybe Australia and New Guinea?

And how were their writing systems? How is literacy among those tribes today?

“It is so wrong to make race an issue here”

Why is it wrong “to make race an issue here”, when it is screamingly obvious to almost everyone else involved (especially to the “yutes”) that race IS “the issue”?

If it were not, we wouldn’t be seeing such activity in these related threads here on FR (and I’m sure there’s lots of similar talk elsewhere), and we wouldn’t be seeing what are concerted efforts by the mainstream media to cover these occurrences up by “non-reporting” on them.

You comment makes as much sense as if someone says, “let’s not make Islam the issue with the World Trade Center attacks”.

Trying to deny reality will get us nowhere.

One of the wisest and MOST “conservative” statements I ever read (boy, I wish I had thunk that one up!):
“Reality is what it is. It is not what we believe it to be.”

Just sayin’....

“I do not believe in genetic inferiority.”

And yet, if you watch professional sports, you plainly see that in certain sports such as basketball and football, teams are dominated by certain races that are physically stronger, can run faster and jump higher than white athletes. You say that isn’t genetic? If genetics can favor certain races’ muscles, can’t the same principle be assumed for brains as well?

With my little Sub2000 in Glock 17 configuration, I use the 33 rounders at the range. But I prefer the factory 17 round mags for carrying the weapon in a vehicle. Silly little carbine came with a ten round mag! Of course five 17 round mags is the minimum for amusement purposes.

Absolutely zilch. But they have other problems like “who am I going to eat or be eaten” by today?

I didn't see a /sarc tag, I'm assuming that it was hidden.

If it wasn't, I was tired of being lectured to by a poster who can't see past their own prejudices. Perhaps homeschooling, with a faith-based curriculum, works well for them and their children, and that's fine.

I'm most certainly in a different situation, and the choices that I've made are working extremely well - which is fine, too.

Tested the new Bersa .45 ACP seven shot this weekend. Nice double/single action, dual recoil spring config gave it a manageable recoil on a small frame. The great thing about Bersa used to be the fixed barrel. This new baby 45acp is a floating barrel. Doesn’t mean anything though at the distances it would be used (inside fifty feet). Nice little 45acp. Picked up a nice .40SW Taurus OSS with decocker, too. I would rate it superior to the Glock 22, frankly.

And hold on to your hats because they are trying to do the same thing with the Hispanic culture

No doubt. There's a reason why they're pushing amnesty.

All of the Hispanic people that I know are legal, and if I know their politics, they mostly lean conservative.

Buddy of mine's wife is originally from Columbia. He said the fastest way to get her riled up is to talk about illegals. After jumping through all of the hoops that she needed to jump through in order to get her citizenship, she looks at illegals (and by extension 'amnesty') as "cutting to the head of the line", approximately.

She's a real pistol. I've not broached the subject with her, ever, because I'm sure that her temper is a sight to behold. :-)

I know I’m all for it, but I’m a rarity in my profession. Most librarians are ultra-liberal, self-loathing, sexually/gender confused, socially awkward Marxists who don’t mind one bit taking abuse off of the animals.

To your last question, Yes, absolutely. But given a few generations the differences blur significantly. Have you ever read about the ‘hybrid dog and cat’ effect? Mongrels are usually recipients of the strongest genes from both parents. So when blacks and whites mix the races, their ioff-spring tend to be better than merely one or the other race. It shows up significantly in music aptitude.

I had one in .40SW to go along with my Glock 22, for about a month. After a few trips to the range, I just didn’t “feel” it. Sold it at a small loss at the next Indy 1500 gun show. I would’ve preferred a more solid feeling carbine, like the Ruger or even the Marlin Camp Carbine, but specifically built for Glock mags.
