Thank you for sharing my frustration with “reporters” who preface their questions with “some say that you...”. Which then enables them to republish some unsupported Internet libel. Wallace did it this morning to Bachmann- in essence, “some say that you are a flake. How do you respond?”. How about with, “Chris, why don’t you cite the source?”

The following may already be noted upthread, but has anyone told Wallace that constitutional amendments are Ratified by the states? He cited Bachmann as inconsistent because she believes in states’ rights but also favors a constitutional amendment that would define marriage as the
union between one man and one woman. He asked why she would want federal law to trump state law.

Katie Couric, even when she was on the morning show, was the top offender with her 'some say that ...' and 'there are those who say ... '

I used to cringe every time I heard her interview someone (pre-cable days). I assumed she continued the pattern during the CBS Evening news -- assumed, because I never watched it.
