A new Kia ad is raising eyebrows-with some even saying that it promotes pedophilia.
The ad, which promotes a dual-zone climate control feature in one of Kia's cars, took home the Silver Press Lion at the prestigious Cannes Lion Awards. But it is controversial, to say the least.
The ad features a teacher lusting after his elementary school-aged student. On one side of the page, she appears as a young girl. On the other side, though, she becomes a scantily clad, buxom teen, seemingly as a product of the teacher's imagination.

My son is a high school freshman (well sophomore in two months.} He says he has seen the short skirt flashing girls since grade 7.
No way as a male I would go into that mess.
This criticism is more over-the-top than the ads themselves.
They have been trying for thousands of years, and succeeded in many periods throughout history.
We need more millstones.
That is strange to say the least. As though it’s ok if it’s animation
That makes my skin crawl....
This ad appears targeted toward the Hot-For-Teacher FReepers on the guilty/not guilty threads.
The DQ commercial with the Rock and Roll Falcon .. Is the Best! LOL
This is just plain weird.
“A different temperature for each side.” Like that’s a new thing in automobiles? (Though it might be in a budget line like Kia.)
Even the “teen kid” half by itself would, if real, be unethical conduct on the part of the schoolteacher.

Thats an equally dangerous message, IMO. Young men teachers are often the only positive male role models in the lives of fatherless boys. It does no good to scare good men away from the teaching profession because of fears of pedophilia accusations.<<
Charly Sheen in 2 1/2 Men had a scene at his favorite watering hole, and he was trying to pick up a pretty, young woman, and she did not even think twice about her reply...”Sorry, I don’t have daddy issues.” and she walked away.
There were no role models in that show. But it was funny.
DK
You mean this one? I can see where a typical Mooselimb male would find it suggestive.
Anyway, it seems they need to find another ad agency if they want to keep on the American consumers favorable side.
Hey, all they did was call the US car consumers sheep. Perhaps they jumped to a conclusion after observing the behavior of said consumers in the voting booth in 2008.
Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark.
No, no. They’re outraged when it’s an adult male/underage female.
The full add is a series of about 6 to 8 cells (3 or 4 pairs)- not just 2.
The student gives the teacher an apple on the left - the instructor bites into the apple in the cartoon on the right, talking about how juicy it is while the girl is drawn as a sexy woman. The lower left - the teacher says ‘let’s get started’ and the ‘adult version’ on the right has the sex-kitten version of the student asking the prof if he had any ideas etc. Saw it over at Ace of Spades but sometimes links to that site get pulled.
I think the teenage player in the ad is the current Dr Who female assistant.

Bullseye.
Geez Louise!
1. How the hell does this prompt anyone to buy a vehicle?
2.Which idiot ad firm created this worthless pos?
3. Who at Kia approved it?
#2 & #3 should be fired immediately.
No wonder I only watch commercial free TV.
