Do Conservatives REALLY want Rick Perry to Run? - Vanity
June 25, 2011 | no dems

Rick Perry:
1. He has done his best to sell Texas' private land to Foreign interests for the I-35 Corridor project which is sometimes called the NAFTA Super highway.

2. He also forced Texas teenage girls, by "Executive Order" to get the HPV vaccine.

3. He supports the IPPF ( International Planned Parenthood Federation). He received much praise from the Democrats for this action, and was demonized by the states Republicans for that choice.

4. Perry also receive a BIG THANK YOU from the Mexican President Vicente Fox for his "Sanctuary Citys" and giving Illegal Immigrants FREE instate tuition to Texas Universities. http://www.youtube.com/watch?f... .

So, If you want to compare Texas to the nation in the 2012 Election (because Texas is a success story right now), then run a TRUE Conservative who is the “most powerful person in Texas politics”, the Lieutenant Governor, David Dewhurst.

The only reason Rick Perry stays in office is because Texas is a Red State and he never has a strong opponent.

Absolutely it was sarcasm. I was trying to make a point how stupid those criticisms sound, the very same criticisms used and accepted against Gov Palin, when used against another Governor.

I was mocking the Perry fans. Those are their canned responses, they always demand to know which current candidate is better than Perry and then ignore it when you tell him who and why.

Can you comment on the powers of Texas Governors? Do they run the state?

HELL NO. It's primarily ceremonial and Veto Power. The Lt. Gov. has the power in Texas.

“I’d vote third party before I’d vote for Perry”

Then just go ahead and vote for 0bama, because the result will be the same.

First of all, he’s not running for re-election; he was just re-elected last November.

That was a Palin quote when she endorsed Perry in such glowing terms in Jan 2009.

“The Texas Republican, the longest-serving governor in the U.S.”

*************

Oh big whup-ee.

Like Nancy Pelosi is worth listening to because she’s been elected so many times. By that measure, any Kennedy is a lesser-god.

Being capable of duping voters isn’t a plus in my book.

***********

One plus with Perry is that he’s been guv long enough to actually have a record.

How about you look up that record... and don’t just gloss over the bad parts for once. Actually LOOK at them, engage your brain and *think* about the ramifications of those bad decisions.

I’ve lived with Perry’s crap. I’ve had to fight Perry.

Yeah, let’s give *that* man a national platform.

Here’s the problem with the whole Perry fight on FR.

The problem as I see it is that Romney is going to get all the establishment republican support (the Michael Medved/Hugh Hewitt/Karl Rove wing of the party). Bachmann and Pawlenty and Cain and all the others are going to dilute the conservative vote and in the end Romney is going to walk away with the nomination just like McCain did in 2008.

The only candidates who have a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nomination are Palin and Perry. If Palin doesn't run, she will likely endorse Perry, especially after the cheap shots from the Bachmann camp.

This is the reality we face. So shooting down Perry even before he enters the race is rather counterproductive.

Perry has more executive experience than all the other candidates combined. He can win the nomination. I'm not sure any of the other announced candidates can beat Romney unless all the other candidates but one drop out.

He really is Bush II

Not even. Perry will do/say anything, take any position, to get elected.

GW Bush was a far better man for our country.

This compu-tard is always willing to ask for help.

I never learned HTML because on the very rare occasions that I actually wanted to post a picture, it just wasn’t worth the work to do it.

Last week at the Rupublican Leadership Conference in New Orleans, both Bachmann and Perry were rock stars.

Michelle rocked. As far as Perry....well, I think we found out 2 1/2 years ago IT DOES NOT PAY TO ELECT A PRESIDENT WHOSE GREATEST ATTRIBUTE IS MAKING A SPEECH AND CAN READ A TELEPROMPTER!!!

You forgot the part of the plan where tracts of adjacent land at highway intersections were to be seized from the land owners through eminent domain and auctioned off to developers. In the case of one place where it would have crossed an east/west interstate...a tract big enough for an industrial park. Perry and friends really took Kelo vs. New London to heart.

Texans who oppose Perry have good reasons, and if he gains any traction you can expect we will require Perry boosters on this sight to explain in detail why they are personally okay with this. I think that would be entirely reasonable and I don't suspect the sight owner would have a problem with it.

Well. Given the crowd’s response, you might be in the minority with regard to Perry. Now TOTUS Obama is a different story :-)

the one with the power in Texas is Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst.

That is the first time I have heard that a Lt. Governor has more power than the Governor. Ridiculous.

I can believe it.

Plenty of Freepers suffer from BDS — Bush Derangement Syndrome.

And more than a few Freepers suffer from PDS — Palin Derangement Syndrome — and its virulent off-shoot — Perry Derangement Syndrome.

I prefer ODS — Obama’s Defeat Syndrome
