Rick Perry: Drawing the Lines Clearly
American Thinker ^ | June 25, 2011 | Peter Heck

Posted on 06/25/2011 5:28:34 PM PDT by Clairity

Rick Perry may just be the guy. The country's longest tenured governor, from its second-largest state, is generating a lot of buzz in conservative circles as he contemplates entering the wide open Republican presidential primary. There are plenty of reasons that Perry is an attractive option: he is a no-nonsense decision-maker with solid conservative credentials. A man who not only speaks about family values, but lives them, Perry's power to persuade voters to see things his way is proven -- battle-tested in a state known for independent-minded citizens.

But what serious political analysts on both sides of the aisle will acknowledge as perhaps Perry's strongest attribute heading into 2012 is the stark contrast that would be evident in a potential Perry-Obama showdown.

IMO Perry could wipe the floor with Obama.

You might want to read this in the "Comments" following the article:

Rick Perry. He has done his best to sell Texas' private land to Foreign interests for the I-35 Corridor project which is sometimes called the NAFTA Super highway: . He also forced Texas teenage girls, by "Executive Order" to get the HPV vaccine, and supports the IPPF ( International Planned Parenthood Federation). He received much praise from the Democrats for this action, and was demonized by the states Republicans for that choice. Perry also receive a BIG THANK YOU from the Mexican President Vicente Fox for his "Sanctuary Citys" and giving Illegal Immigrants FREE instate tuition to Texas Universities and Colleges.

Apparently none of you are Texans. The only reason Rick Perry stays in office is because Texas is a Red State and he never has a strong opponent. SEE MY POST #4

If you want to run a Texan (because Texas is an Economic Success Story now) then run one who is a TRUE Conservative and the most powerful elected official in the State of Texas; the Lieutenant Governor, David Dewhurst.

Hey - READ what Perry says and he sounds better than Reagan (except for the Gardasil thing)!!!!!

WATCH him say it, and you realize why the Gardasil thing happened - he's a totally insincere, creepy, political hack. A southern-fried Romney. Ewwwww!

That comment to the article is silly, just like all the crap you Perry haters write on this site. Probably written by you.

This Perry trashing comes from the Ron ‘truther’ Paul nuts, Debra Medina sour grapers and the resident FR Libs.

Freepers, don’t you think it more sensible to trust what our Conservative icons have to say about Perry?

>Sarah Palin threw her endorsement to Rick Perry for governor. Sarah just restated recently that she likes Perry

>Michael Reagan- "If you don’t believe Reaganomics can still work in this day and age, for whatever reason, I say you should look no further than the state of Texas. Under the leadership of Gov. Rick Perry, Texas has championed and built upon the concepts my father used to rebuild America in the 1980s. In short, Reagan Revolution is alive and well - deep in the heart of Texas." http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/jun/24/reagans-vision-lives-on-in-texas/?page=1

>Ted Nugent is a close friend of supporter of governor Perry.

>Rush said that Perry is his dream candidate. http://gretawire.blogs.foxnews.com/rush-limbaugh-on-the-record-3/

Don’t you think it more sensible to trust what numerous politicians and scholars have said about Rick Perry than some haters on FR?

VISIT THIS SITE

Read the official statements released by dozens of Perry’s fellow politicians and scholars (both Democrats and Republicans) regarding Rick Perry: http://www.politico.com/arena/archive/rick-perry-for-president-in-2012.html

All (including Democrat opponents) have called him a staunch Conservative, and not one of the dozens issuing opinions has mentioned the vaccine or TTC. Apparently they don’t consider these things an issue. They DID mention Perry threatening to secede from the unionas a strike against him. He did not issue such a threat- but I wouldn’t blame him if he did.

You are being disingenuous, at the very least.

Either you plagerized the comment you were referring to in your post here, in the vanity you posted, as your own:

Do Conservatives REALLY want Rick Perry to Run? - Vanity

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2739969/posts

OR, most likely YOU posted that comment at the original source of the article, then called attention to it here, as if it were someone else’s.

BUSTED.

Be a little cleverer the next time.

I guess you would rather keep Obama for another four years.

REAGAN: Reagan’s vision lives on in Texas

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2739915/posts

“If you don’t believe Reaganomics can still work in this day and age, for whatever reason, I say you should look no further than the state of Texas.

Under the leadership of Gov. Rick Perry, Texas has championed and built upon the concepts my father used to rebuild America in the 1980s.

The results, again, are unassailable.

Mr. Perry is continuing the Reagan tradition of removing senseless roadblocks and allowing free enterprise to do what it does best: hire employees and generate wealth.”

-— Michael Reagan

I think Obama and his cohorts are afraid of Perry, they know that Obama can beat any of the other GOP candidates easily, but can’t beat Perry, his record speaks for itself.

So they unleashed their propaganda army, trying to “divide and conquer” by dividing the conservatives and trying to keep them from supporting the only candidate who could demolish Obama in 2012.

No they don’t - the negative comments about Perry come from everyday Texans like me... Perry is a CROOK ... just do a thorough research on the TTC ... Perry is a pretender... he pretends to be concerned about securing the Texas/Mexican - BUT DOES NOTHING... Perry pushed (obama like) the mandatory vaccine on 11-12 year old girls - for a potential PROFIT...

“he pretends to be concerned about securing the Texas/Mexican - BUT DOES NOTHING”

Before the election, “I promise to secure the border.”

Two weeks after the election, “It ain’t gonna happen.”

He’s a turd.

Conservative Perry just vetoed a texting while driving bill - introduced and voted for by Republicans, Perry said it was an intrusion on adults - this is the same conservative that ORDERED every 12 year old girl, in the state, to get an HPV shot at government expense if necessary. This conservative PERRY ordered the taking of the largest land grab - to benefit a foreign company, Cintas, to build a highway, to kick farmers and ranchers off their land - all without a single hearing. This is the man who was the chariman of Gore for President in 1990. Yes he is a true politican and no conservative!!
