Mormons are good, loyal Americans. I served with a number of them in the Army. Every one was a good soldier. Not one Mormon has ever been convicted of selling or betraying American secrets to our enemies.
Mormons are good business people. Where they are, there is prosperity,decency, cleanliness, order. I have inevitably found them to be affable and friendly.
I would much rather be marooned on a desert island with a group of Mormons than with your typical crowd of NY theater goers. So There! The fact is that in contemporary America, there are some religious groups--Evangelicals, believing Catholics, Mormons--that are fair game for overt ridicule, scorn and bigotry in the popular culture. Other groups--Jews and Muslims--must be treated with kid gloves. Why is that?

I would agree to that, had I been in said situation.

There is little political scorn, or supposed threat of facing wrath for going after Mormonism or Catholicism. So those two groups are therefore easy targets for now.

My final thought would be that personally, I had very little for the South Park show, or other things made by it’s producers who made this musical anyways. Rude, Crude, Humor wasn’t that great anyways, and I wouldn’t bother with watching any material from the same two guys anyways, the money I could spend on some Broadway Ticket to this show could be better spent by me somewhere else.
