The Japanese are very odd in many respects.
I have a long article from the LA Slimes that reported that Japan, bought and asked for robot engineers from Irobot/USRobotics and US Navy to build robots that could head into the radioactive reactors.
Then one of the American engineers from MIT asked how come Japan could come up with these “robots” who blink, talk and hug yet they couldn’t come up with anything that could go into the reactors. You know...”robots which saves lives”.
One of the translators actually said “because Japan likes building gimmicky stuff”.
I might like this if, instead of hugging, it would scratch that spot on my back that I can’t reach.
