1998 - storm in 97 . I believe my company sent crews north to rebuild.
My comment is still valid - perhaps moreso.
I have watched Quebec Hydro at work for over 20 years. I saw what they did to Newfoundland. I also saw how they tried to take over NB Power through buying then Premier Graham..he was deleceted on the issue.
IMHO Quebec hydro is very much behind the anti Vecrmont Yankee movement. They are equal to the Chicago gangster style of politics to obtain exclusive market share, and in that sense are at one with the Obama regimes approach to destroying US energy diversity.
Quebec hydro will hardly be Vermonts saving grace for energy, they simply want Vermont to join the international grid so they can make huge profits in a few years as the only act in town, and will tie their initiatives to Quebec independence as they have in the past.As a “provincial corporation” their executive ideology is one of entrenched socialism, and the non diversification of energy ( they have only one nuclear plant), a diversification that we need in the USA and Vermont. They are all for Big Government. In some circles they are Big Government, they are just that powerful.
I would rather see 3 or 4 nuclear generating stations in Vermont than take one more electron of Quebec Hydro power than we have already.
