First time I saw 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasnt receiving it posthumously."
The problem is, Jared Monti was killed in action in Afghanistan, on June 21, 2006. He was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously, September 17, 2009. President Obama handed the framed medal to his parents, Paul and Janet Monti. He and the First Lady comforted them in the Oval Office following the ceremony.

Stupid misf*ck.

Obozo uses the fallen to try to boost his public image.
There ought to be pictures of SFC Jared Monti held at each of his campaign stops to remind him. (The promotion was posthumous as well)
-------------------------------
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty:
Staff Sergeant Jared C. Monti distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty while serving as a team leader with Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 3d Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3d Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, in connection with combat operations against an armed enemy in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan, on June 21, 2006.
While Staff Sergeant Monti was leading a mission aimed at gathering intelligence and directing fire against the enemy, his 16-man patrol was attacked by as many as 50 enemy fighters. On the verge of being overrun, Staff Sergeant Monti quickly directed his men to set up a defensive position behind a rock formation. He then called for indirect fire support, accurately targeting the rounds upon the enemy who had closed to within 50 meters of his position. While still directing fire, Staff Sergeant Monti personally engaged the enemy with his rifle and a grenade, successfully disrupting an attempt to flank his patrol. Staff Sergeant Monti then realized that one of his Soldiers was lying wounded in the open ground between the advancing enemy and the patrols position.
With complete disregard for his own safety, Staff Sergeant Monti twice attempted to move from behind the cover of the rocks into the face of relentless enemy fire to rescue his fallen comrade. Determined not to leave his Soldier, Staff Sergeant Monti made a third attempt to cross open terrain through intense enemy fire. On this final attempt, he was mortally wounded, sacrificing his own life in an effort to save his fellow Soldier.
Staff Sergeant Montis selfless acts of heroism inspired his patrol to fight off the larger enemy force. Staff Sergeant Montis immeasurable courage and uncommon valor are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, and the United States Army.

“Gaffes” like these are so extraordinary that I find myself wondering if they are not intentional, with the goal of demoralizing anyone who cares about this country.

I forgot my sarcasm tag on that one. I’m with you and have been arguing it with liberals on a couple of Youtube videos for the last week or so. :-)

This is what happens when idiots elect idiots.
Yep. Anyone who still has an 0bama bumper sticker on their car is beyond idiotic. They are publically displaying their stupidity/sickness.

God bless our brave and honorable men and women of the Armed Forces. I pray Obamas’ idiotic and inexcusable misstatement about SFC Monti will not cause anymore pain to his family. May God continually comfort them. They should be very proud of their courageous son.

After such a telling Obama Teachable Moment, anyone still worried about who the military will obey/support if the Muzzies act up and the Bamster declares martial law to impose collectivism?I've had that thought on several occasions. I agree with the implication also.

Heard tonight Bos approval’s in the 30’s now. He’s in desperate mode now.
I heard part of his speech and was keenly aware when he attempted to get some recognition from the troops for taking out Osama, for his insincere comments honoring them...the clapping just didn’t come as usual when Presidents have spoken to the troops. They were completely still...and you could tell BO was looking for that recognition...it didn’t come.

This is a typical example of how incompetent Obama’s researchers and advisors are. And we, the taxpayer, are paying their salaries.
I want my money back. I also want my country back!
To: macquire
I can somewhat understand his confusion in this matter as many people voted for him posthumously.
