Gov. Bev Perdue has vetoed a controversial proposal to require voters to show photo ID at the polls.
Her statement:
“The right to choose our leaders is among the most precious freedoms we have – both as Americans and North Carolinians. North Carolinians who are eligible to vote have a constitutionally guaranteed right to cast their ballots, and no one should put up obstacles to citizens exercising that right.
“We must always be vigilant in protecting the integrity of our elections. But requiring every voter to present a government-issued photo ID is not the way to do it. This bill, as written, will unnecessarily and unfairly disenfranchise many eligible and legitimate voters. The legislature should pass a less extreme bill that allows for other forms of identification, such as those permitted under federal law.
“There was a time in North Carolina history when the right to vote was enjoyed only by some citizens rather than by all. That time is past, and we should not revisit it.
“Therefore, I veto this bill.”

Thank God we moved out of Charlotte and into South Carolina! I watched the early voters(mostly lefties) hit the libraries to cast a vote weeks before the precincts opened, and saw two women that I knew turned away on election day because someone else voted their names in the early voting frenzy.
Governor Perdue is a hardcore leftist that is finally getting her butt handed to her by a strong conservative majority.
God, I hope so. Purdue knows she just took one for Obama and will not be Gov. of NC again. People already dislike her HIGH taxes she snuck in with Obama.

We have our share of illegal Mexicans they all drive w/o D/L’s and don’t care and are perfectly happy telling you they pick strawberries work 2 other jobs all live in one house and switch off going bck to Mexico. They outright say they use us and go back and live like a millionaire on the money they make after 3 years.Isles in the grocery store just for them and a lot are rude and mean.When they do a crime they do not go to jail they go back to Mexico.
County governments opened a special free clinic for them.They have it made, no laws to obey and they litter like they don’t care.
