Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, on a fundraising trip through California this week, has rolled out endorsements from a bunch of GOP lawmakers.
...
House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon, R-Santa Clarita, said in Romneys news release that President Obamas policies have failed California and the nation, while Romney has a proven record of job creation in both the private sector and as a governor.
Similarly, state Senate Republican Leader Bob Dutton, R-Rancho Cucamonga, said Romneys record as governor speaks for itself.
He created jobs, balanced budgets, and cut taxes, Dutton said. Mitt Romney knows how the economy works and he has the much-needed experience to lead the country out of the economic downturn.
Also endorsing Romney are Rep. Mary Bono Mack, R-Palm Springs; state Sen. Tony Strickland, R-Moorpark; state Sen. Sharon Runner, R-Lancaster; state Sen. Bob Huff, R-Diamond Bar; state Sen. Sam Blakeslee, R-San Luis Obispo; state Sen. Mark Wyland, R-Del Mar; Assemblyman Paul Cook, R-Yucca Valley; and Assemblyman Jim Silva, R-Huntington Beach.

Note to my Congress critters: Anyone who endorses Romney in the 2012 primaries will not get my vote in your next election.
Seems pretty early to be endorsing candidates.
Just because Mitt didn't screw up all the contacts he got from his daddy's Rolodex doesn't make him eminently qualified. Personally, I think that Herman Cain is far more qualified to serve at Treasury or Commerce than Romney. His self-made man story isn't an myth.
Well, he's nice to children, anyway. Not sure about the dogs.
(Note: Just a little joke. I don't have much of an opinion about the "dog on the car roof" issue, but it was Leno fodder for a week or so back in '08.)
As a Californian, I say to the Republican politicians in this state, “STFU and stop telling us conservative Republicans who you support. We don’t want your stinking Romney, nor do we want Huntsman or anyone else from the RINO group.
As for Mary Bono, my representative, I am sending her a letter about her dumb move.
Cut taxes, but didn't he also raise fees by hundreds of millions of dollar?
I just don’t get it with the Romney bandwagoneers.
1. EVEN WITHOUT THE ROMNEYCARE ISSUE, he’s too liberal and flipfloppy.
2. EVEN WITHOUT ALL THE OTHER BAGGAGE, i.e., even if he were perfect otherwise (which he ain’t), ROMNEYCARE IS AN ABSOLUTE DISQUALIFIER FOR HIM, or at least is so where he’s refused to say “I messed up, worst mistake of my public life” instead of embracing it and reaffirming it.
Just don’t get it at all. Mary Bono Mack, Buck McKeon, don’t you oppose ObamaCare? So how is nominting Mr. RomneyCare going to help us?
Romney is the NEW John McLaim...
The ringer from the shadow government..
What shadow gov’t?... I dunno if anybody knew it wouldnt be in the shadows.
I want to adopt Darrell E. Issa as my congressmen. He is in an adjoining district.
Your betters have decided.
What they are doing now is redefining the spectrum so that: Communists = left, socialists = moderate, RINOs = right, conservatives = radical public enemies.
Mitt and Huntsman's jobs are to set the acceptable right boundary of public discourse somewhere to the left of (true)center.
And the GOP elected officials, most of whom are leftists themselves, are on board.
Look, I really do think Romney the nominee is a done deal. There's nothing that can stop it.
Start thinking about what you are going to do the day after.
More untrue nonsense.
Sarah Palin can and will stop Romneycare.
I understand what you really mean, but at this point we have to fight like hell to nominate someone better and electable. Pawlenty? Perry? Others? Too soon to say -- which is my point vs. these CA legislators.
I held my nose and voted for McCain last time for the sake of judicial picks and GWOT/Defense. I might do it again (for Romney), but wouldn't it be nicer NOT to have to hold the nose?
Read my post #20.
"Treasury" is fifth in line of succession to the presidency - way too close.
He's NOT a thinker and he's NOT an ideologue.
The experts all agreed Romneycare was the way to go, so he did Romneycare.
If he were surrounded by members of a Palin administration and had to carry the ball until the next election, it would be fine with me.
Great satire, you forgot to point that out, however.
California is a lost cause. They can have Mittens. I just wish he would run for state office there instead of the GOP nomination.
Save your defeatism.
What happens after is Obama kicks his butt. We can’t have that.
