To help Harrisburg out of its financial crisis, area Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders have called for three days of fasting and praying for a more cooperative spirit among Harrisburg government leaders, the business community and residents.
The voluntary event will start at midnight on Tuesday and run through 5 p.m. Friday. During that time, various churches and temples will be open to the public.
Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson said she will participate in the event.

For the atheists and Christianity/government separatists: the Founders called for national days of thanksgiving and prayer several times during the Constitutional Convention and several times thereafter.

Apparently, Harrisburg is just another concentrated Democrat parasite nest where the socialists have flat run out of other people’s money. The place is on the verge of declaring bankruptcy.
Far be it from me to denigrate the power of prayer, but I just don’t think the Almighty is going to come racing to save us from the consequences of our own stupidity here.
Mayor Thompson is taking a mail-order/on-line divinity course while she is mayor so that she will have a cushy job after she gets booted out.
Of course she is doing it on-line while she is at work.
I gave this info to a local reporter for the Harrisburg Patriot News. Of course it won't be followed up.

I certainly agree that Harrisburg and the US are reaping what has been sown. I believe the Almighty could redeem us, given true, collective repentance, but, unfortunately, I don’t see that happening.
The problem in Harrisburg are beyond the power of prayer. The political culture is so far gone I’m not sure divine intervention can help.

Given American morals I tend to think it possible that the Good Lord has abandoned us.
Since the days of “love and peace” in the 1960s this has been the primary response to serious issues. This added to bumper sticker messages got the Republic to where it is today.
Most people with more than 76 functioning brain cells know this. Those that don't continue to vote dimocratic.
