NBC gives Donald a Trump-sized raise to $160M

Playing the presidential card has paid off for Donald Trump.

The real-estate mogul and reality-TV host -- who kept viewers and the NBC network guessing until the last minute whether he would make a serious run at the Oval Office -- got a sizeable pay raise to renew his contract to host "The Celebrity Apprentice" for another two years.

NBC Universal, which was acquired by cable-TV giant Comcast this year, agreed to pay Trump and co-producer Mark Burnett an estimated $160 million over two years, according to sources familiar with the contract.

Trump, who was in Scotland yesterday touting his plan to build a new golf course, couldn't be reached for comment. But sources said he will personally pocket $65 million a year, a substantial increase on his previous deal with the Peacock Network.

"They stepped up," said one source close to the show. "It was an increase over last season."

With this new deal, Trump becomes the highest-paid reality-TV star, eclipsing the "American Idol" judges and the Kardashian clan.

"Trump played his possible presidential run for maximum effect, boosting ratings for "Celebrity Apprentice," until the fourth-ranked NBC, which is struggling to find new hits, finally pushed him to make a decision about his primetime berth." Maybe the whole thing was just a marketing ploy dreamed up with NBC to begin with.

One thing is sure ... there are those on the Right who are so eager to find a strong candidate to run against Obama that they will actually fall for a conman who says the right things. We are going to have to be very careful to select a candidate who is consistently firm in their principles and isn't "running" just to get free publicity for some sort of media contract.

FWIW, I think the net's shareholders are the folks who need their intelligence tested if this is just a honkin' big bribe to keep Trump outta the race.

Forget a third party.

We need a second one.

That’s because he’s been a good lap dog of distraction for Obama and the National Socialists Workers Party. Good job, jerk.

Including some people here on FR who jumped on the Trump the clown bandwagon despite the fact that "the Donald" is not even a conservative. Goes to show you how gullible some people are.

Now if we could just get Fox News to quit giving Trump the clown a platform to spout his self promoting, nonsensical crap. I think he starts off every interview with the exact same line, "Well, I was leading in the polls". Then he goes on to tell us his presidential ambitions just couldn't overcome his lust for all the money NBC was offering him, and of late he feels the need to bash Paul Ryan for actually trying to reign in out of control entitlement spending. Trump is a complete buffoon.

In other words, NBC is saying “Shut up about the BC issue and we will reward you”

I dont blame him for taking it

I bet there is a stipulation in the contract about staying out of politics or something

It just not seem like “The Donald” to allow Obama to sandbag him so bad with a NEW fake BC

The scary part is that Trump needs the money. That BTW is the only reason he will never run for office, he isn’t nearly as wealthy as he carefully projects. His ego could not take the beat down he would get about his true wealth if he ran for office.
