Back in 1970, my mother, and youngest brother gaveme 2 RPMs.
One was Jack Van Impe. It was a great recording, I used in in our youth ministry, and in Sunday School.

I was impressed that he had memorized the whole New Testament, and large portions of the Old Testament.

The Jack Van Impe Ministry had a statement of faith I loved; one statement I continue to use:

“The only infallible interpretation of Scripture of Scripture; is Scripture itself.”

That’s definitely true. Any other attempt to “filter” or “interpret” or take the Bible a la carte is putting your own wisdom above the authority of the Bible.

It’s all a matter of recognizing the concept of “Ultimate Authority”. The Bible is the Ultimate Authority as the Word of God. When a human attempts to “take or leave” parts as he believes to be right or wrong, then he is putting his own wisdom/reason in the position of “Ultimate Authority”.
