RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Rotting teeth and gums. Diseased lungs. A sewn-up corpse of a smoker. Cigarette smoke coming out of the tracheotomy hole in a man's neck. Cigarette packs in the U.S. will have to carry these macabre images in nine new warning labels that are part of a campaign by the Food and Drug Administration to use fear and disgust to discourage Americans from lighting up.

If the cost of cigarettes don't deter smokers, then nothing else will. Look at the price of a beer...
But, did you notice that the government wanted everyone to quit smoking, and is now attacking the ones who got fat? We really need to get the perpetually dissatisfied something else to do.

They are so concerned, yet will not dare mention that homosexuality is far more dangerous than smoking. To be honest I don’t care to see the pictures that might be associated with that advertisement.

Can’t wait to see the alcohol warning labels on a bottle of Budweiser or Jose Cuervo 1800...

Being ‘overweight’ is now no 1# cause for health risks, far surpassing smokers.

Nah. Pictures of Michelle Obama. Not only will it act as a warning, but will put you off your appetite. . .

You got that right.
Every time I see a picture of Michelle Obama I get erectile dysfuntion for the next 24 hrs.
I am all for a Free Republic ban on Michelle photo’s.

When are they going to start requiring abortion clinics to start posting 10 foot billboards outside their death mills with warnings and pictures of aborted fetuses?
To: Prince of Space
“So apparently that’s not too gruesome, but a picture of an aborted fetus is.”
Those hypocrites can’t even deal with showing the mother a picture of her soon-to-be-aborted fetus (sonogram), much less an already aborted one. That’s what gets me about this cigarette warning campaign.

So apparently that's not too gruesome, but a picture of an aborted fetus is. So true!

We had a co-worker come over from Europe that had a couple
of slip-covers for his cigarettes, so I guess they are
already available overseas.
It looks like my mini pocket holster for my .380 is the
right size, also. :)

I heard a suggestion this morning on a local Denver station that all shoe boxes should come with a printed picture of the child-laborors from a Chinese sweatshop that made them.

It won’t help. Nearly all political advertisements today come with a picture of an untrustworthy asshole; we are forewarned but keep voting for them anyway.
