RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Rotting teeth and gums. Diseased lungs. A sewn-up corpse of a smoker. Cigarette smoke coming out of the tracheotomy hole in a man's neck. Cigarette packs in the U.S. will have to carry these macabre images in nine new warning labels that are part of a campaign by the Food and Drug Administration to use fear and disgust to discourage Americans from lighting up.

Liberals disgust me.
Mrs. Prince of Space
we should demand they do the same for union cards. photos of the people butchered under socialism / communism.
Perhaps at least as much credit - or blame for cause - for cancer, should be another carrier, introduced to the American public - with thanks to our Government and so not necessarily, by a Camel cigarette. SV40, (google - if not familiar) embedded in the Salk polio vaccine, delivered to a young America; and now reaping the consequences in a maturing boomer generation.
Cigarettes certainly do not help; but we have a guilty Government that really does, protest 'too much' in light of this vaccine history. (It's the cigarettes; 'second, third' and fourth hand. It is EVERYthing we have so ignorantly, invited into our life; all from which the Gov must save us from; while testing it's own WILL and control upon our population; per it's own agenda. . .) All the 'Corporate' and 'personal responsibility per cause/effect; but no mention of Gov's own fingerprints per our cancer statistics.
The CDC promised this epidemic; and we have it. SV 40 (Simian Virus 40) thus far, has escaped 'major' notice; much less, has Government found it necessary to give this virus credit; or itself, for that matter; for it's silent introduction to a vulnerable population.
Maybe they should do the same for bicycle and motorcycle helmets to show what might happen if riders don’t wear them.
Thank you for saving me from myself (cough)!
So what’s next? Mangled accident victims painted on new cars?
Apparently dissatisfied with the extent of the governemnt’s in loco nanniensis, FDA officials have now proposed that an FDA employee be stationed at every place at which cigarettes are sold, hit prospective buyers over the head with a blackjack, and then spirit away the culprit to the gulag.
Meanwhile, cigarette taxes continue to fund many of the government’s pet giveaways.
Officials were unavailable for comment, being too busy sucking down the cocaine to think - or even care.
Thank goodness we have the government to make all our decisions for us.
Until the gov’t bans the broadcast of Styx’ “Light Up Everybody”, all will be in vain. ;’) Thanks Berlin_Freeper.
“So whats next? Mangled accident victims painted on new cars?”....
Pictures of obese people on cartons of ice cream, McDonald’s wrappers, Oreo packages.....
Ridiculous.
How about the autopsy photos of dead fat kids on your Happy Meal boxes at McDonald's? Or maybe a pic of the charred corpse of that Jackass guy on beer and liquor bottles? Maybe mutilated aborted fetuses on abortion clinic windows?...
Do they really swab the skin with antiseptic before cutting into a dead person?
How about making queers watch a clip of AIDS victims dying before they can engage in their sodomy?
Are you listening Barney?
The caption reads:
Warning, Elections Have Consequences.
There are always unintended consequences when the government gets involved.
(Yes, it is ridiculous, but while we're playing...)
No other product has been so singled out as as "EVIL!"--yet, but just wait.
At some point it will be "child abuse" to let a kid see the package.
I kinda miss that silly camel...
Gristly pics on a cigarette package???
What happens if little Johnny sees on of those pictures?
I guess that will create jobs for the Obama administration in the health care area with millions of councilors to help little Johnny and his parents through the physiological trauma posed by the viewing of the pictures.
In addition, millions of trial lawyers will get more business by lawsuits against the cigarette companies for physiological pain and suffering due to nightmares caused by said pictures.
What a wonderful idea: First warnings did not work, now we have frighting pictures on the packs. The warnings did not work, why would the pictures work?
What a totally stupid idea!
Sooooo....what are they going to do when they finally kill the golden goose for good and all that cigarette tax revenue that states depend upon for so much dries up?
