John Quincy Adams from 1829 to 1833.
Abraham Lincoln from 1861 to 1865.
Gerald Ford became President after being appointed
Vice President. he served from 1974 to 1977. But failed to win the Presidency after he ran on his own accord.

My fault, I failed to mention the most important part of the stigma stated, that no VP candidate, who has lost a prior election has ever won the Presidency.

Nixon lost his first bid against Kennedy, coming directly from the VP spot, and won later after having been removed from that stigma. So your claim about Nixon is false.

Lakeshark won’t care they picked one thing to harp over and over and some bots have actually stated Palin is more qualified than anyone anytime anywhere. They even bashed West lacking experience over Palin. I like Palin but they are drunk on her kool-aid.

Only one person has gone from being a sitting congress critter directly to the white house. I don't think any other has even become a party nominee.

Nice try though......

Ford was closest, although it took an appointment, a resignation, plus he was Speaker of the House, not just an ordinary congresscritter.

Maybe you could try a couple of guesses as to why this is so true, congresscritters don't become nominees.
