Bachmanns newly installed political team has had its own battles with message discipline typified by campaign manager Ed Rollins recent comments alleging that former Alaska governor Sarah Palin hasnt been serious over the last few years.
After the incident, Bachmann was very firm with Rollins, according to an adviser to the congresswoman, telling him this should not happen again and that there should be no more press. Bachmann also demanded that Rollins call the Palin people and apologize. She is definitely not tone deaf, the source added.
Bachmanns move to limit her exposure in the wake of her debate performance is a smart strategy designed to avoid accidentally trampling on the momentum she built with that performance.

Such is Palins conservative cachet among the base, I think, that not even Michele Bachmann would feel completely safe from charges of RINO-ism if she had let Rollinss attack slide. Already Ive seen her dismissed by a few people in the comments here and elsewhere as some sort of stalking horse for Romney whose mission is to clear his way to the nomination by siphoning off votes from Pawlenty and Palin

OK. I get it. You're upset because you gave money to her and you feel like you've been had. I knew there was some anger there.
Consider your $1500 tuition in the school of hard knocks. Also the Democrat candidate she defeated in 2010 was probably a lot worse, so you did do some good.
He might end up spraining a lip, reading all of that. ;)
Palin has known for a long time what she intends to do.
She will announce when she thinks the time is right. In all likelihood she will not consult Drapes or you Indylindy as to the proper moment.
Her political instincts are usually right on the mark.
OH MAN, you owe me a keyboard dude! Perfect.
Michele has gone from being a favorite on this forum to being very much less so, and I think it is about loyalty and decency.
Sarah was very helpful to Michele and has never badmouthed her.
Michele either knew what Rollins was like and what he said or she didn’t. If she didn’t know it speaks poorly of her judgment and grasp of her campaign.
If she did know, it speaks poorly of her.
I liked her and I still like her, but not for president.
Please ... it is so pathetic for you to still be dragging out that well-beaten horse about the resignation as governor.
It has been explained thousands of times to you but apparently it is all you can come up with to trash Sarah.
If you cannot do any better than that, why not chuck it in.
Everything before the butt is bovine excrement.
Of course a public apology is the only appropriate option.
An public apology is appropriate. Common sense really. Only a die hard Bachmann fan doesn't understand that.
Common sense really. Yet we have Bachmann fans rationalizing against it.
I’ve struggled through this whole thread and I’m beginning to feel sorry for Michele. She’s a nice lady who’s made a serious mistake, but the reason I feel sorry for her is that you two (her only defenders on this thread) are pretty pathetic.
If Bachmann wins Iowa, she might go a different direction. Rollins is only around to tap into the Huckabee vote.
What else can you tell us, oh "insider"? /s
Look, I've ONLY been writing about Ed Rollins and his history; facts I know. Why don't you do the same ?
Hmm, let's think now. Perhaps she's running for POTUS, has more important matters on her mind; doesn't feel inclined to offer up any drama just to placate folks who live on the www?
Assignment: Pick ten people, of voting age and in person, at random and ask them if they know about this *issue*. Come back and post your results.
Well, it wasn’t at random, but about a dozen friends of mine and I were talking about politics and ten, plus me, knew all about it ( with only one other person who reads political sites on line ) and what a mess Rollins is and always has been. Does that count? :-)
If something never happened, just say it happened privately and people will believe it.
True, Bachmann would do well to at least disavow (or “clarify”) it publicly.
But if the worst thing Rollins said is that Sarah Palin was not “serious” then the question ought to be asked, “serious about what?” Many a FReeper voiced extreme discomfort over Palin’s dalliances with John McCain, feeling the alliance unworthy of any serious conservative. And Sarah Palin has never yet made a statement in the vein of “if I become the President in 2013, I will do things in thus and such a manner.” One could argue over whether or not this is “serious.”
It’s sad that Bachmann actually TRUSTS this guy! She couldn’t find ANYONE else to help run the campaign??? I find that laughable... I suppose she’ll get what she deserves. Unfortunately, it will hurt others in the process as well — especially her constituents!
I stated in Post 41 : Why should anyone apologize because Bachmann has no executive experience? She doesn't.
Your post did not address your accusation and my response.
