Bachmanns newly installed political team has had its own battles with message discipline typified by campaign manager Ed Rollins recent comments alleging that former Alaska governor Sarah Palin hasnt been serious over the last few years.
After the incident, Bachmann was very firm with Rollins, according to an adviser to the congresswoman, telling him this should not happen again and that there should be no more press. Bachmann also demanded that Rollins call the Palin people and apologize. She is definitely not tone deaf, the source added.
Bachmanns move to limit her exposure in the wake of her debate performance is a smart strategy designed to avoid accidentally trampling on the momentum she built with that performance.

Such is Palins conservative cachet among the base, I think, that not even Michele Bachmann would feel completely safe from charges of RINO-ism if she had let Rollinss attack slide. Already Ive seen her dismissed by a few people in the comments here and elsewhere as some sort of stalking horse for Romney whose mission is to clear his way to the nomination by siphoning off votes from Pawlenty and Palin

She needs to fire the jackass.. I thought she was smarter then that to hire him.
Whether Rollins did or not, he would rather stick his face up Me-chelle Obama’s humongous behind and regurgitate rather than apologize to Palin.
Yes. Public insult, private apology. And as far as we know, she didn’t order him to do it until more than a week had passed, and she realized that Rollins was hurting her with conservatives.
But she’s still got that jackass Rollins on her payroll, running things.
She’s probably one of those Christians who think everything apology-related should be handled privately. That being said, that attitude drives me nuts. If the offense was public, so should the plea for forgiveness be public.
So if we don't know, we can just make stuff up.
Show me...don’t snow me.
“I am sorry if you may have felt I was attacking you.”
Palin deserves a real apology - down on the knees!
Well as the article states, she doesn't want anymore press. HER campaign is about her, not Rollins and not Palin. Going public puts this story in the front page and not her debate performance. I think this is why Palin did not make a big deal out of these comments. She respects Bachmann enough to let her handle her campaign.
Considering who wrote the article, and considering that the information came from the usual “unnamed source” I look at this as one large heaping pile of feces. Sorry. No can do.
if she is this good at smacking RINOs around she is definitely the right woman for the job

I doubt anyone actually listens to anything Rollins says. I wouldn't have known about this if I had not read this article.
Making Rollins apologize publicly would call attention to the statement and give the MSM more ammunition to attack Sarah.
Making him apologize directly to Sarah is more sincere and hopefully she told him to STFU about Sarah or else go find another job.
Hiring Rollins in the first place was probably a mistake.
Rollins is on double-secret probation. If he messes up again, there will not be a public airing of dirty laundry; he will discreetly leave the campaign “to spend more time with his family.”
How could a class act like Bachmann hire a worthless turd like Ed Rollins? This isn’t the first time he’s stepped in it while being involved in the management of someone’s campaign. Republicans just have no sense about the “it’s my turn” generation of which Rollins is a charter member.
Way too little, way too late!
Goose is already cooked with me.
Unflippinbelievable!
But I’m sure that many Palin supporters heard about what Rollins said about Sarah, especially those who frequent the Internet. I’m not sure that a story buried in the Washington Post and posted on HotAir and here will not spread as much as the former
Notice the article only stated the most benign comment, leaving out all the others, i.e. Michele is so much smarter and prettier than that stoopid hag Palin!
[I started to say more...decided to be nice for Sarah’s sake].
Rollins doesn’t know, and probably will never know, the 11th commandment: “During a primary, do NOT attack another conservative... only the RINOs”
