WASHINGTON Republican Senator John McCain, his party's 2008 presidential nominee, ripped into the current crop of Republican White House contenders, accusing them of breaking party tradition by preaching "isolationism."
McCain said if former President Ronald Reagan were still alive he would have been disappointed in last week's Republican presidential debate in which candidates voiced impatience with U.S. military efforts in Afghanistan, Iraq and now Libya.
"He would be saying: That's not the Republican Party of the 20th century, and now the 21st century. That is not the Republican Party that has been willing to stand up for freedom for people for all over the world," McCain said.
McCain made the comments in an interview with ABC's "This Week" program that was broadcast on Sunday.

And Reagan would rip you a new one for violating his rule of not ripping fellow Republicans.

We can’t even expect a tip of the hat to the 11th Commandment on FR, how can we expect it by today’s crop of “hang-on-to-my seat-principles-be-damned” politicians?
And, as a second note, it is sad to note that putting American interests first is now “isolationism.”
Thanks, Mr. McCain for your service. Now please take your mental wheelchair and go to the porch and get out of public life. We can’t have you continuing to stab the Republican Party from the inside.
While I greatly respect the senator for his service and suffering in North Vietnam, when it comes to expressing true Republican traditions I'd rank:
Robert Taft > John McCain
Wrong ! Mcscumbag, Reagan would be more concerned about our fiscal health.
Why doesn’t Senator McCain just mind his own f’n business?
Bob Dole never talks. Why cant this loser do the same?
FUJM
McCain just wants more facetime on TV.
Thanks very much, Senator. 34 years in office is plenty. The tar pit is thataway.
He and the wife haven’t been getting invited to cocktail parties hosted by leftists as much as they used to, so he is trying to look relevant.
It truly pains me that he “represents” Arizona. He isn’t an Arizonan. His wife was, a beer heiress. The closest thing McCain has to a home State is Virginia, and they don’t want him either.
The only reason he is a senator is because his wife will buy him a seat, like Ter-ay-sah Heinz buys John Kerry’s seat. Nobody else in Arizona has enough money to kick his skin diseased rear end out. And McCain will pay a legion of mercenary slime buckets to slander anyone who tries.
>>That is not the Republican Party that has been willing to stand up for freedom for people for all over the world
When it starts standing up for freedom for people in the United States, then McLame can start lecturing us again.
FUJM and STFU.
Freedom for the Muslim Brotherhood to impose Sharia? Er, no thanks, McStain.
Im not even sure where to begin with McCain. First, he does NOT speak for Republicans in my view. In anyway shape or form.... Second, could you even imagine what the left would be doing had McCain did this or better yet BUSH. Really
Exactly
Exactly, CCC!
Any candidate that listens to that loser deserves to lose themselves.
Any candidate that listens to that loser deserves to lose themselves.
McCain is running point against republicans for the democrats again.
