Three people died and another was injured early this morning in northwest suburban Prospect Heights when the stolen car they were in crashed into a tree, ripping the vehicle in half, police said.
The crash happened about 3:10 a.m. on East Camp McDonald Road just east of Elmhurst Road.

has a video of the police investigation. It was very close to the hot dog stand. I think the name is Heffeys (sp). It was also very close to the Prospect Heights police station.

Apparently, I was pretty close on that assumption of gang involvement (of the boys at least) — they live/d in Boxwood. Although as I hear tell it’s no long the “king’s” territory, but an offshoot of the Piper Lane gang now... If you read the comments of some of the guys’ friends and “family”/”cousins” it’s rife with gang-related commentary - although most people may not catch it.
Don’t know if you have all read any of the more recent articles, but it was one of the girls driving... According to one article I read the “response crew” knew there were fatalities immediately (kind of hard not to figure that out as the driver was still in the car - minus her head...).
What a waste. Prayers to the families and friends of the kids involved - horrible tragedy regardless of the kids’ criminal activities...
Forgot to say that I’m subscribed to the Arlington Cards’ YouTube account — from there I usually go and read the articles. It’s a great way to catch up on things “back home” when I don’t feel like going to the Herald or the Trib - especially if I am hankering for a “look” at my old haunts!
