Then the kids in a safe place until many are moved to a relative or family friend.

I think yours is the most reasonable scenario I have seen. And yes they are to be commended. Her supporters can parse her statements all they want, but she has implied she raised the children.

This should have stayed a feel good back story. When she moved it o the front page of her resume she put it in play.
