I made it clear, when I said
“important national” straw polls, I meant “important national” straw polls.

One of those links was to an inaugural straw poll, and the other was to a state straw poll.

The first wasn’t important, the second wasn’t national.

Thanks for playing.

Ron Paul as a viable, sane candidate. That will happen when...

How many of those primaries were after McCain had it wrapped up? Most of them. How did he do in SC? Florida?

Hell, I’d vote for him over McCain in a meaningless primary, which is what most of these were.

You must be from the Bush RINO wing.

Not from the Reagan / Paul wing.

That’s ok, you want bigger government, and support a presidential candidate who will screw conservatives as bad as the Bushes did.

When I heard the results of the straw poll, I turned the channels; it isn’t a serious group of people attending this convention.

I studied Ron Paul quite extensively back in 2008. He is NOT conservative. He is a kook that may fall somewhere in the libertarian category but I cannot thing that ideology would want to claim him either. He might best fit in some conspiracy theory universe with Alex Jones types.

Fortunately Paul’s numbers appear to be dwindling here at FR.

The crazy thing is that I have more respect for him than the collection of nutballs that support him.

The Reagan/Paul wing? Oh yeah, THAT wing.

Oh, BTW, thought I would help you out in 2008: In South Carolina and Florida, before most of the other candidates had withdrawn, Paul got 3% in both.

Still more than the numbers that were quoted.

And Ron Paul is doing better this time than last.

There was a time that you would have been attacked from all sides for saying that. The Paulers would have come out of the would the wood work, pinging each other. So you must b right.

Ron Paul’s numbers are rising here on FR.

Perhaps it’s because in 2011 (and 2012) antiwar means Anti Obama.

In 2011, if you defend war, you defend Obama.

And lots of Conservative Republicans do not want to defend Obama.

Ron Paul is in almost exact agreement with tea party conservatives.

Ron Paul, and the tea party, are in favor of limited constitutional government.

A Federal Government that spends less, takes less, and does less.

It’s pretty simple.

Ron Paul is like tequila. Bring it into an otherwise boring conversation and things liven up, but not always in a good way.

You’re basically saying that Ron Paul is mightier than the Republican Party?

Still more than the numbers that were quoted.

Actually, it wasn't. I was referring to his numbers when he actually got a nomination (see post 57). The only way he will ever get a nomination is by running for the loony Libertarian, certainly not as a Republican. But since you have such confidence in your boy, truth, care to make a wager? I'll bet you $100, to be contributed to Free Republic, that not only will Paul not win in 2012 but he won't even get the Republican nomination. What do you say?

Keep going.

I have 4 with Reagan. Some signed. Others on Reagan’s airplane. Even Rand with Reagan.

You have a random pic. Try to find as many pictures, good solid pictures, proving a relationship. You’ve got a random picture in a public area. No proof that Ron Paul even knew who those random people were. Keep looking.

His drooling minions were there in force,it would seem.

You bet they were! Hubby and I got to see them up and close and personal. So many nice young college age kids who were Ron Paul all the way! And yes, they had instructions on when to boo and really did so when Herman Cain was speaking about how America should stand with Israel.

Let Ron Paul win the straw polls at CPAC and now the Republican Leadership Conference. After all, that is ALL is is going to win!

Just in case you haven't heard, Florida's Col.Mike McCalister wowed the crowd and will be the one to send Senator Bill Nelson packing come 2012!

What are my odds? I’m not arguing that Ron Paul is more likely than everyone else combined to win the nomination.

If I wanted to make money, I’d take Palin on this bet.
