Representative Ron Paul easily won a Republican Leadership Conference straw poll of the party's 2012 presidential contenders on Saturday, with former U.S. envoy to China Jon Huntsman finishing second.

His speech was idiotic, and sad.
What could Ron Paul HURT as President???..
With a republican House and Senate he couldnt do much damage..
Gutting the federal gov’t like a fish would have to be a good thing..
It may even TAKE someone like Ron Paul to pull it off...
There are so many excuses TO NOT limit and de-grade the federal government..
Actually I doubt that even RON PAUL could DO IT...
Getting rid of so many programs would have “them” screaming....
No, Romney decided fairly recently, after he bought the tickets, to not participate in these straw polls. Those were Romney tickets that Huntsman voters were using.
This is a re-run of 2007. I remember the Paultards spammed straw polls then as well, making their cult-leader the winner in several of them.
Then FR's little band of Paulestinians put up threads just like this one, wetting their pants about how Ron Paul is going to win it all.
They do provide an element of entertainment, though.
WOHOO!! That settles it!! Ron Paul is the one!! < /sarc>
How so?
Every campaign had the same opportunity to get their supporters to the straw poll.
Ron Paul has an organization, and others don’t.
Someone should tell the other campaigns that a well-oiled campaign organization is required to win.
*Yawn*
Seems to me that Ron Paul helped McCain and by extension, Obama.
He could be a kingmaker but unfortunately he’s a court jester with fantasies of being king.

Rumors circulated here that Huntsman campaign had paid for supporters to attend the conference and a spokesman for the candidate, Tim MIller, didn’t deny that they had.
“Not commenting on internal strategy,” said Miller

Ron Paul won. With not all that many votes, but he did crush it.
Everyone else embarrassed themselves.
Look at the numbers. This isn’t some obscure conference.
No one cares about most of these candidates.
Ron Paul does have some supporters, but 600 some isn’t really that impressive, even though, again, he crushed everyone else.
Romney, under 100, pitiful.
Pitiful, pitiful performances by many front runners.
Well said....only with Paul the organization is created by his supporters not him.
You’re posting a graphic to tell me that Ron Paul didn’t win in 2008?
Wow, thanks, I didn’t know that.
He’s much more popular now than he was in 2008.
The wars he opposes are Obamas wars.
That’s a new one. Spamming straw polls? Prey-tell how do you do that? Create astral projections or something?
Maybe since Romney pushers have been banned from working on FR, they’ve moved over to Huntsman?
Not just pitiful for the frontrunners but pitiful for the backrunners including the Hermanator, Backman, Santorum, etc.
"He needs escorted off the property!"
