Chris Matthews stopped by Real Time with Bill Maher tonight to serve on the show’s panel, and he really likes Michele Bachmann. Her name came up and Matthews immediately referred to her as “my hero,” predicted she’d beat Mitt Romney in the New Hampshire primary, and praised her for being “real.” This is probably where we make a “thrill up my leg” reference.
Fellow panelist Ross Douthat strongly disagreed on the New Hapshire point, but Matthews wasn’t getting swayed. He talked about how Bachmann “stands for something.”

Mitt is at the bottom of our list of candidates. He’s right above Obama who’s trying to nationalize the same healthcare Leviathon that Mitt Romney burdened Mass with. IF? You are a Mitt fan then you’re on the wrong site because true conservatives will never vote for him because he is a Socialist in republicans clothes.

He was her biggest critic until last week. Is he being sarcastic? Is he trying to promote her because he thinks she’ll lose to Obama? Or...is he being serious? In the 90s, Matthews was great at what he does. He totally lost his mind in the Bush years and even moreso when Obama hit the scene...his true love.

...then the left starts praising Bachmann, Romney starts trying to act like “one of us” (he’s “unemployed” also, and a hunter!, and -in his OWN words- a “good fit” for the Tea Party because he believes in small government, etc.)
and Bachmann won’t call him on it, or Romneycare to stop him? (if she was the leader of the Tea Party that Rollins said she was, she would !).
...and then lindy and others, goes off the deep end accusing us of trying to help Obama win... just bizarre.
Folks, this is about ratings, nothing more. Stop trying to read something into this. It will drive you as looney as a liberal.

Yeah a FReeper, in response to one of the remarks about Bachmann, stated that FR will try to destroy her at all costs (paraphrasing here). I posted back to him that FR would not do that, Bachmann will take care of that herself.
And she will. Actually it’s good these people are in as early as they are because they will all flame out at some point.

I entered a comment that was not lock step with the groupies over there regarding the tea line. It was just an opinion. Well that comment got jerked. I did notice all the comments were positive which I found odd.
Any way I entered another comment, similar to the first and it was in response to another poster. Well that got jerked too. And when I went to enter another response to someone, it told me I was banned.
The irony of getting banned from the icon of modern free speech. Can’t make that up.

Romney will not win because the Tea Party will either stay home or vote 3rd party. Romney is a pale version of Obama.

Hard to remember, but yes, there once was a time when Matthews was not a mindless, one-dimensional lefty jerkwad. There was a time when Maher was actually interesting to listen to, and Jeaneane Garofalo was actually funny and kinda sweet.
Personally, I think Chrissy is brown-nosing for an interview. Why not? It’s no more grotesque than O’Reilly grovelling for Obama.
