Just happened, very strange! Wolf Blitzer Interview with Michele Bachmann. Blitzer asked Bachmann 5 times do you agree with Tim Pawlenty that Mitt romney is disqualified from being the Republican nominee for president because he supports mandated healthcare.?
She kept responding that she's against obamacare/mandates. Blitzer tried again to pin down some kind of answer. She evaded the question at every turn, didn't want to touch it and finally a frustrated Blitzer then says, "You obviously don't want to answer the question?"
I know people say that nominees shouldn't attack other nominees yet but if not now, when? because Romney is trying to create the "inevitability" card so that momentum carries him eventually to a plurality of the votes on the primaries.
This might reveal her real goal, a VP nomination.
You don’t think she is shooting for the top slot?
Yeah, she might want to vie for being #2 if it ends up Mitt.
She’s a tax attorney and could have skirted the question by saying she doesn’t believe Romneycare was wise or in keeping with American principles but that she believes Mitt is sincere in saying he would never wish this kind of “solution” upon the USA as a whole.
Doesn’t surprise me a bit. She tends to avoid questions and doesn’t give straight answers to unexpected questions. She also will sidestep the topic to relate it to a talking point.
I LIKE that they are all focused on being nice to each other and slamming theWon only. Can’t stand Romney, but it isn’t Michelle’s job to knock him off.....the voters can do that themselves.
She also knows when a questioner is trying to push her into a situation where a technically correct answer would make her look bad.
I disagree. It is her job to knock Mitt off if she is serious about being President.
“I’d need to know more to say” isn’t one of the Procrustean beds her questioner wanted to permit....
As Rush said, this is early in the season and the primary focus of the current candidates is Obama, not each other..........which is wise and that is what is making the MSM apoplectic...........They want to see GOP blood.
I just spent the whole freekin day in the ER with my mother. Long story, doctor prescribed a drug she needs to save her life. We had to wait for APPROVAL from the Medicare part D coverage provider. I told them that we would buy the meds ourselves rather than let our mother die of this infection.
So just now, I got a phone call from the insurance company, telling me that I could go get the medicine because it’s been approved!
I got a great deal of satisfaction from telling the lady, TWICE, that I don’t wait for an insurance company to tell me it’s OK before I do what a doctor says.
This is one of the things I’m still mad at President Bush about, this stupid drug plan. Before this plan was forced on her, my mother got most of her medicine for FREE from the drug companies. Now it’s more than she can afford with the premiums and the cost of co-pays.
My mother is in NO WAY happy about this mandated coverage she has to buy. Just in case anyone wonders, I think most seniors don’t like it and wouldn’t be offended if a politician spoke out against stuff like this.
Go after Romney on this entitlement stuff, Mrs. Bachmann. It would be so good for me to hear.
Isn't that the entire idea of a primary? To knock off the other candidates?
Bachman sad to say is just a stalking horse for Romney. Having been a long time supporter and contributor I am so utterly disappointed in her to the point of being depressed.
She has betrayed us
That can be done indirectly by voicing policy positions that are more acceptable to Americans than those of the “other guys.” The Rats want the GOP to brawl with one another, to form circular firing squads with lasting gratuitous damage. It takes the spotlight off of the Bummer.
Not really considering the target at this early stage in the primary is Obama, not each other.
I don’t know but her refusal to take on Romney opens up the possibility she’s keeping her options open in case (likely) she doesn’t get the nomination. After all, Romney is going to have to balance his ticket somehow and a conservative woman covers two bases.
We are all aware of Obamneycare. While Michelle could give her opinion on the issue and sling mud at Romney, it doesn’t really matter, could make her look bad, and it is really up to Republican primary voters to decide if they want Romney to represent them along with his heavy baggage.
I think its a pretty pathetic and cowardly tactic to use against her.
Sounds just like the moderator of the debate when he said he knows she’s a strong states rights proponent and then turned around and asked how she would impose her will on the states.
Like it or not, Romneycare isn’t a national issue.
