Calista isn’t my ‘cup of tea,’ but the point is that you will never, ever see NBC doing a report on Michelle Robinson Obama, i.e.. why she was never before ‘08 proud of her country, or on rumors about her and Jarrett’s undue influence on Oval Office policies.
This type story is why Daniels chose not to run, and stories about the Palins may drive Sarah not to run. Newt’s right about that point. The MSM cannot trash spouses/kids and expect good people to run for office.
Well said..
I am in total agreement with you, but at the same time, we have to choose our candidate with the press in mind. By this, I don’t mean foregoing excellent candidates like Palin or Bachmann because the press will take out after them, but the creepy, over-coiffed wife is a negative for a candidate. We cannot just whine about the inequities of the coverage as it won’t change.
If Callista Gingrich scares me, imagine what she will do for non-pubbies.
Regardless of how much someone likes or dislikes Gingrich, it is good to see republicans getting more aggressive with the MSM. Palin has set a good example lately.
Maybe they have FINALLY realized there will be no friendly, or even fair, coverage of a republican in any circumstance. If you will be bashed anyway, why take the abuse in silence? It is time to challenge biased coverage instance by instance. The legacy media has been emulating Pravda for some time now. Candidates should challenge their credibility loud and often.
