In a real world conversation a couple days after this broke I commented to a friend wondering why he hadn't resigned that financial considerations could be a factor. He'd lose his salary, probably needing some time before he could do a Spitzer, and oddly though being employed by the Clinton's for over a decade, his wife has never held an "actual" government position. One of responsibility that would provide her a career path when her BFF steps down next year. Never thought to add, one that would require a security clearance, which might be an issue.
