No longer constrained by campaign advisers who insisted on such conventions as message discipline, Gingrich fulminated against President Obama, the news media, activist judges and assorted other liberal bogeymen for 41 minutes here Thursday night.
It was classic Newt slashing attacks, an array of ideas, and a few plugs for his website. All jumbled together with little cohesion.
The former speaker, it seems, is very much enjoying the post-consultant phase of his candidacy.

Even if you were right- and you're not, you are spectacularly wrong about the fat washingtonian has-been gingrich, it doesn't matter.
I wont bother to re-list all the reasons posted just here in the comments on this thread why gingrich is such a pathetic and embarrassing candidate- you'll simply ignore reality some more.
.Maybe this will sway you though- Liken this thread's comments to a newt for president poll.
Newt loses this particular "poll" 1-78.
Newts putative base, Freepers, reject him totally and nearly absolutely. Except for you of course.
Get behind someone who has a prayer, george. Stop wasting yours and our time arguing for a joke candidate.
I support Palin, george, so don't ask me.
I'll vote for whoever the candidate is. This does not include newt as he has no support on the Right. None. Zero.
You are easily fooled, george. Become more discriminate please.

How can you NOT be a Newt Gingrich fanboy (or girl)? ....that's my question. Are you afraid because the media fears Newt? What candidate do you support that can out debate Gingrich?
Wow, debate skills. That is really going to go far when the majority of the voting population couldn't even tell you who the current vice president is. Haven't we learned our lesson yet about academic types who want to be president? Wilson? Soetoro? now Gingrich?
Why on earth did you think that Schwarzenegger became GOP governor of Kalifornia? Was it his eloquent and articulate silvertongue? Or was it that he is nothing more than a white version of President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho?
I'm not afraid of Gingrich, I am afraid of the losers, seditionists and political hacks that are in his Rolodex for the myriad of appointed positions.
Its the current crop of professors and political types who all know what is best for you and the guy thousands of miles away from you with their grand convoluted Rube Goldberg One Size Fits All Legislation that for some odd reason always carries the same attributes of costing you money and freedom while simultaneously enriching the new "PC" - Politically Connected.
I understand your support for Newt but I do not want him as president. This is due to the fact that he has made some seriously poor decisions in the past. With that said, I DO like the majority of his ideas about how to fix this nation and I think people need to listen to these and seriously consider them. Newt would be awesome in the cabinet somewhere or in an advisory position.
To categorically declare Newt a 100% loss is ignorant and, you are right, it is something the liberals would love to see.
I do not yet know who I’m supporting. Romney is absolutely OUT for me....as are Huntsman and Ron Paul. I very much like Michele Bachmann and am still considering Pawlenty though I wish he had taken on “Obamneycare” during the last debate. I like Santorum but I don’t think he has the necessary numbers. I would very much like to see Rick Perry get into this. Also...If Bolton gets in....he can highlight the incredible fiasco of foreign policy that Obama is responsible for....but that’s all. I hope Trump does NOT decide to get back in as an independent. That would definitely split the vote.
It’s still somewhat early....but things should get a lot more interesting soon.
I hope we are all praying for this election. ;-)
I notice that the article says that Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and Ron Paul of Texas plus Texas Gov. Rick Perry will also be speaking.
Any stories on those, or is it still going on (it lasts 3 days) and they haven't spoken yet?
Second!

I’ll be superficial then, He looks old, McCain old, and older than President Reagan old. He’s pining for the fjords....
“...from the TP?”
If you mean tea party, I didn’t see anything like that at the link.
None, yet.And none that I would not vote for, over Obama. Romney bothers me. Of the bunch he is the most opportunist. I fear that even if nhe wins, we will go back to business as usual. On the other hand, if this were 1860, I would not be looking very hard at Lincoln right now. Probably would have voted for Seward at the Convention.

Re: both quitters. The similarity ends there. Looking at Newt really makes me appreciate Palin. Palin is driven by her Christian morals and shuns atheist academia. Newt is in love with academia and they love him. I get a little worried about Palin’s lack of academic contacts, but then I look at Newt and realize that those don’t always work out.

Does RLC stand for Republican Lite Club?
Actually...that would be a compliment...imo
