My view of the debate had Newt the clear and powerful winner, and I’m not pleased with Newt anymore. Just saying.

There is no doubt that Newt has super communication skills, but I don’t think he’s electable in the primary let alone the general election.

I don’t want him to be president, but I wouldn’t mind if he would help the new speaker of the house to come up with a good game plan kinda like he did with the contract with America. Something that everyone could get behind.

I’m not a Newt supporter, but I think he did well and Bachmann did well.

Newt came across as someone really experienced.

He understands that he overplayed his hand in 94, or that it’s perceived that he did. And his advice was just to not drive over the cliff blindly. And since he does have the most experience of this very situation, that’s where he’s coming from. He’s basically saying something like “make the popular cuts first” and watch the polls.

That said, he’s not in my top 3, but he’d be preferable to Perry or Romney.
