Isn't the well-deserved public humiliation enough? Under other circumstances I would agree with you, but not in the case with Weiner. He isn't at all humiliated as we have seen. Narcissists at his level cannot be humiliated rather , just as he's doing, plays the role for whatever advantage the moment might bring him. Unfortunately people supporting him are not doing him any good by doing so. He's still blaming others and will continue to do so behind the cameras. It's his very nature.

He's the enemy. He wants to take what you've created and then kill you. He wants to brainwash your children and make them slaves of the state. He is the freaking enemy and people who are squeamish about finishing off the enemy when they are down are a big part of the problems we find ourselves with today. When the enemy is on the ground, by your hand or a failing of his own.. finish him off.

Truthie, he could have avoided all of this by admitting his part in this and exiting last week....
...He didn't have to have a news conference the first or second time....he chose this, imo, because he has a strong fetish to see himself on TV....
..and this news conference today wasn't exactly a heartfelt mea culpa...
...but rather a ..'I'm leaving, but I'll be back'....
...cynical me thinks Weiner and Huma and Hillary combined forces & wrote his exit lines to leave some wiggle room for a return.

CNN: he should have been able to make his statement without interruption (Im sure they say that about Republicans, right?) Yeah, I'm sure that CNN was sympathetic to Virginia's George Allen when he was being heckled at a campaign stump speech. You know, the one where a frustrated Allen called the heckler "Macaca."

A real New Yorker would have had his buddies shut down all of the recording devices while he laid into Weiner with a tire iron. Ah... sweet nostalgia - the good old days.
Back when men were men and politicians could be trusted to spend their time stealing money instead of sending pictures of their own nasty bits around the country.

“CNN his already talking about his comeback”
They’re probably thinking of hiring him to co-anchor with Elliot Spitzer.

Rich Lowery just nailed it, saying that...." everything Weiner has said and done has been aimed at one goal: preserving his political career.... From the initial lying to todays self-serving statement, its all about getting this behind him so he can pick up where he left off..... There is no remorse and his greatest emotion is about getting caught." That does say it all...including this resignation...no skin off his nose...he's already moving down the pike...likely has a job offer waiting just to throw it back in everybody's face.
What a creep of the highest degree!

How about Colmes saying hes guilty of what, being horny? ....as if sending photos of ones sex organ to strangers all over the country is just normal horny behavior. Maybe Holmes ought to try it out for himself and see what his wife Jocylen and sister-in-law Monica have to say about it?

VERY well said!!! How much must a man hate his country (and weiner certainl does) before we’re allowed to rejoice in his misery? Remember, he’s not been diagnosed with cancer or anything, he’s losing his cushy, well-paid job for life. That’s it!!!! Boo-freaking-hoo!

CNN is already cutting away right before the heckler starts up.

I have a bottle of 25 year old The Macallan from which I drink only on special occasions...Clinton impeachment, Bush election wins, 2010 elections, Saints Super Bowl win, Bin Laden killing.....Sorry, Weiner, but you just dont measure up. Agreed - Weiner's departure rates no higher than a shot of Old Crow.
