Yes 13.33%
No 86.67%
I voded NO with 86% (so far) of the other voters.
And there is no such thing as an EX-marine.
SEMPER Fi.
Why these SWAT officers are not going to go to jail - much less even be charged with a crime - is beyond me.
(And I use the term ‘officers’ loosely.)
Though I staunchly support the “double tap” SOP for bad guys. 71 is a little overboard ... and was this guy that bad that he deserved to be sentenced by the local LE to bleed to death without trial
There was no justification for this kill. There is also no justification in firing into a domicile where you KNOW there is a woman and child.
remind me again what this was about???
was it his estranged non-present wife was late on student loan payments???
maybe a different SWAT team story...the stories seem to all run together now days
(wonder if that’s a factor...”now days”)
This was nothing more than a display of cowboy tactics by a bunch of undisciplined idiots. If this had happened in Iraq, the media would be all over it, looking for a trooper to hang out to dry.
NO 91.7% now
Over 91% of those responding say no and I concur. Not only were they not justified in shooting him they were not justified in breaking down his door. They had no business being at his house and when they knocked they should have waited until someone answered the door. 8 seconds is not a reasonable time to wait.
The student loans was in California.
This is the Marine father in Arizona, who was left to die while his wife pleaded for help, for more than an hour while the emergency teams were held back the murders who wanted him to die.
This death is nothing short of murder.
The militarization of local and state law enforcement is not a good thing.
It is just another heavy handed way for the government to build its own power at the expense of individual freedom.
In this case it is a way to evade the letter and spirit of the Posse Comitatus act which was passed, in part, to prevent abuses of power exactly like this.
In a just world ... these murderers would have been met by a hail of bullets from outraged neighbors ... it may have to come to that in the future
I have never figured out why raids like this are necessary. The guy had to leave the house sometime. Get him when he comes out.
Because under their ninja costumes they each have a dishonor tarnished tin badge that deflects all legal responsibility for this and other cold blooded murders.
Thank you for voting!

I thought they only had 22 hits.
And there is no such thing as an EX-marine.
Congressman Murtha was an EX-marine.
Let me be sure I understand the question.
“Were a dozen or so heavily armed government agents justified in kicking down the door of a family home where no one inside had any criminal record and shooting 71 times at the homeowner and then withholding medical treatment for over an hour until the homeowner was dead?”
Is that the question?
Dear Responsibility2nd... Seeing as how you've been a vocal Drug War Cheerleader for years, maybe you could explain it to the poster.
