The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19 (see trends
-19 with a bullet.
Time to fish Osama up off the bottom and shoot him again.
Fine, but polls show that he’s still winning against ANY GOP opponent.
What is WRONG with the people of this country? What more could this destroyer do to us?
-9 only a week ago.
Proof positive that 23% of the voting population can get lost in a tunnel.
by “somewhat approve” they could mean “at least he’s not out screwing interns like Clinton”.
I did a visual review of the history of this poll back to his inauguration. He peaked at +30 two days after his inauguration, and it’s been essentially downhill since then. His lowest was -24 on September 9, 2010. The last time he had a positive rating was June 29, 2009, just 5 months after his inauguration and peak. So in the space of just over 14 months he had a swing of -58.
Sorry, my calculator is acting up. The swing was -54. ;-)

Funny you should say that, I heard on the news yesterday that someone wanted to do just that! I think they will be sadly diappointed as I do believe the sharks have already found him....and he was delicious, a tad bitter, but a treat none the less!
I sure wish polls couldn’t be published until 90 days before election. They are so annoying. And fudged.
wait till the stimulus kicks in and the economy starts growing. then these numbers are going to sky rocket!
“Fine, but polls show that hes still winning against ANY GOP opponent.”
Not according to Rasmussen.
i continue to believe that polls on 0bama are inaccurate in that they are more positive than reality.
The persistent bashing of anyone who criticizes in the smallest way does affect answers - imo people just say whatever will get them off the phone.
But when it counts, this joker is going down. Narcissist that he is, he will blame his historically sound defeat on something else. Maybe ATMs... but something.
I have said and i will say again - 0bama will get thumped.
i hope.
PART of it, I think, is that nothing is “decided” as far as a GOP candidate...from what I remember, the challenger gets a few point bump at the time the nominee is clear.
Yeah, but Romney? Blech.
Of course it’s still mostly name recognition at this point.
47% pay no taxes....dear leader will never stay below 45% for very long.....if he does he is toast!
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds a generic GOP candidate earns support from 46% of Likely U.S. Voters, while the president picks up 44% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and another eight percent (8%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Last week, the Republican held a 45% to 42% advantage over the president. Prior to the latest findings, support for both Obama and a generic Republican have remained in the narrow range of 42% to 45% in weekly surveys since the beginning of May. Rasmussen Reports will provide new data on this generic matchup each week until the field of prospective Republican nominees narrows to a few serious contenders.
