House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Congress needs to raise the federal debt limit above its current $14.29 trillion limit regardless of whether spending cuts are made in the federal budget. You go girl!
Way to take the bull by the tail and face the situation!

No it should not. I’ve seen the predictions of what would happen if it is not raised. The government would be legally REQUIRED to live within it’s means.
WHEN DID THAT BECOME A BAD THING?

we still have no alternative but to increase the debt limit.
Obviously Steny you are using the same scenario in your personal budget.

If we cant, I think we need to increase the debt [limit] in any event because America is going [to] pay its bills and I think Americans share that value of fiscal responsibility. So we should raise the debt ceiling without spending cuts because we pay our bills and value fiscal responsibility???? I'm not even going to try to make sense of that. Orwell would be proud.

I wonder what the odds are that Boehner will cave? I hate to be pessimistic but Boehner simply hasn’t shown any reason to think he’ll hold fast. He and his fellows have an excellent opportunity here to show what their made of. Will they use this situation to their advantage or falter? Once again.

Two words, NO and NO WAY to any raise as a freeze and severe spending/borrowing cuts are needed now.

Hoyer, and the rest of his RAT mob, need to forced to live under the same rules they impose on those of us who make the country work.

Steny is right. When you've maxed out all of your credit cards, your only option is to apply for some more so you can keep right on spending. Good thinking, Steny!

Hoyer, you’re an idiot, as is anyone who thinks we should just raise the debt ceiling without addressing the problem that caused the need to do so.

Hoyer’s an idiot. Always has been.
To: CNSNews
Hoyer like the majority of congress wants to spend their way to prosperity.
Most thought it was “National” Prosperity they were talking about. When in reality they were only talking about “Self” Prosperity.
