Simpson added that the tipping point "will come when the rating agencies find out we have no plan" to seriously address federal spending and the national debt.I guess we have to really thank our lucky stars that the rating agencies can't read then.

Why do we have no plan? Is it because the GOP doesn't have a plan? No. Is it because the GOP refuses to compromise on its plan in committee negotiations? No. Is it because the Democrats have no plan and refuse to do anything other than demagogue on this issue? Yes.
These hand wringing statement are useless unless Simpson, Bowles and others get a lot more precise in what they mean.
