Joe Scarborough said this morning on Morning Joe: "rank and file Republicans are hungry for a guy like Huntsman". Then as the show progressed they started making fun of Rick Perry.
If the media is pushing anyone is Jon Huntsman. The MSM may have declared Bachmann the winner (along with Romney) of the debate on Monday night (as did conservative media), but they're not in the tank for her. Now that Huntsman has announced watch them push the meme that he's so smart and eloquent that he's the only one who can beat Obama..
Also, you didn’t answer why Palin is waiting to get in. Bachmann doesn’t prevent Palin from getting in but if Palin had jumped in first Bachmann would not be running and Perry probably wouldn’t be thinking of running either.
WHICH primary. There are a whole lot of different primaries, and a good candidate for one office may not be good for another.
Here’s how the MSM “picks”...
They go with the most liberal conservative... a McCain
And they go for the most liberal liberal... an Obama.
And we let them get away with it... Our policy should be ANYONE the MSM likes is suspect.
I don’t think McCain would have been a bit better than the kenyan except in judicial appointments and even there I would expect him to do the major ones to prove that he gets along with Democrats. Romney is a worse prospect because he would have NO inclination to appoint conservative judges. McCain’s loss got us a Republican COngress. With a McCain presidency we would have had continuing Democrat Congresses and a pliant Republican alias president. The kenyan got 2 good years with a Democrat Congress. McCain would have had all four years with Democrats and would have spent the whole time proing he can get along with them. Teddy kennedy would have set his agenda and he would have continued it even after Kennedy’s passing from the scene because Teddy would have allowed him to write “McCain” at the top of each totalist bill.
AND furthermore...
Romney cannot win without Democrat re-registered votes in the Republican primaries. He will get them and he will know whence they come.
Of course this is all just talk now because neither are declared candidates.
Sorry, even if McCain got us the 2010 congressional gains we had to go through two horrible supreme court nominees as well as ObamaCare, financial repform porkulus and a whole host of other crap to get there. Supreme court picks are for life. And the other crap is not something easily undone. I will support anybody over Obama in 2012.
I assume you mean for the Texas governor's position. Not being from Texas, I have no idea what the other choices might have been, but it makes perfect sense for Palin to endorse someone for governor (she is looking for allies who can support her in their state....see Nikki Hailey). This obviously means precisely zero if said governor decides to run against her for president. I suspect Palin also endorsed Bachmann in HER latest race.
A. I’m not trashing her. I suggest we “vet” her, however. Google is your friend. You can bet the left is digging up dirt on everyone that was on that stage Monday and some who weren’t. They’ll save it for a time of their choosing. The two least well known people were Bachmann & Cain. I only think they might be less merciful over Mr. Cain because he’s not been in gov’t (which gives them less fertile ground) and because he’s so gentlemanly. Being black won’t buy him any better treatment (ask A. West).
B. I don’t know Palin, of course, but the statute of limitations of filing even more frivolous lawsuits in Alaska is July 26th. Those would NOT fall under the new law in Alaska; the old law would apply. It would seem to me that she is smart to wait for that deadline to pass.
*correction on Mr. Cain*
Couldn’t decide between typing “more merciful” (regarding Mr. Cain) or “less harsh.”
So I squashed them together and gave the opposite of what I was trying to say.
More iced tea needed, looks like.
OK, I give up....what’ “SLC?”
Hank
She said she would walk from Saint George, Utah to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ummm...maybe that she isn't a statist, open-borders RINO?
I'm glad to have a chance to jump in on a pro-Palin point...I'm usually the skunk at the picnic here pointing out that she can't win. What she has over Perry is that IF she were to get the nomination, conservatives could enthusiastically support her (albeit almost certainly in a losing cause).
Guys like Perry and Mitt? Well, I don't want to have to do all that research on 3rd parties, thank you.
Hank
