AOL Weird News gave two writing analytic companies samples of the former Alaska governor's recently released emails and both agree that the Tea Party favorite writes as if she's in middle school.
The 24,000 emails during Palin's time as Alaska governor are still being studied. But the documents are filled with her famous folksy phrases like "holy moly," "shindig" and "holy flippin' crap."
It turns out Palin's writing skills are still better than most educated Americans. Global Language Monitor gave Palin's emails a score of 8.2, which actually exceeds that of most chief execs. "She's very concise. She gives clear orders. Her sentences and punctuations are logical," said Paul Payack of GLS. "She has much more of a disciplined mind than she's given credit for."
John Katzman, CEO of another company, 2tor, gave Palin a score of 8.5. He said the potential presidential candidate's emails scored higher than his own, when based on the widely-used Flesch-Kincaid readability test.

Notice how she always capitalizes the first letter of a paragraph in her emails.
Semiliterates here should take note...
Ari-freedom problem IS Palin..
Well, there’s a reason you write newspapers, instructions, and pretty much anything else designed for mass consumption at an eighth-grade level: You need to in order to maximize the number of people who can understand you.
If you’re writing a thesis, knock yourself out. If not, tone it down.
What he needed to address a classroom of 6th graders!
I’ve slammed Palin for several years here on FR, attracting the displeasure of a good number of Freepers in the process. I’ve been quick to label her a “lightweight,” and did so just last week in fact.
But something has changed. I’m still in the process of re-evaluating her as I write tonight, but I can say this much. The letter she wrote to her family, a letter that was intended for their private consumption only, about the imminent birth of a son she knew to be a Down’s baby, is without question one of the most moving, sensitive and insightful testaments I’ve ever read. I could not have written that letter. She showed writing skill and ability that amazed me. The letter was masterfully done in the voice of the Creator, and every word shined out with love and wisdom.
Sarah Palin is not a lightweight, and I will never use that term to refer to her again.
Personally I don't find anything wrong with that. We have a great orator (teleprompter reader) in office now and what has that gotten us?
I had written her off during the reality show thing - especially when she hosted Kate Gosselin.
This bus tour was interesting - the way she was sticking it to the media.
The Paul Revere thing was hysterical.
And then the press thinks they’ve REALLY got her with the e-mails right?
Not only do they shed light on what a good governor she was - it’s happening side-by-side the Weiner scandal.
The contrast couldn’t be brighter!
Yeah - I’m back in her camp now. I’d still like to see Paul Ryan throw his hat in too.
I'm a fan of expressing informality in emails, texting, postings on websites by taking grammar/spelling liberties.
Using "gonna" as a substitute for "going to" indicates humor and/or southerness. But I'm still in favor of proper capitalization and punctuation.
Everybody sing... "Conjunction Junction what's your Function?"
The media did not even give Palin and her family credit for existing as human beings. They made her out to be a total monster and freak.
I will never forget what the MSM did - in unison - to Gov. Palin and her family.

A capable political writer can write at any grade level you want, pretty much on demand.
And for general political purposes an eighth grade level is about as high as one dare go.
In other words, this whole thing is stupid.

This will all be brought into perspective one day.
Hats off to you for admitting your were wrong. Too many people just cannot bring themselves to do that preferring to dig in and make themselves appear stupid when obviously wrong.
Welcome home, pilgrim.
Golly!
Let me put a qualifier on that... her general conversational speaking... giving a speech she outstanding ...personally I thought her after Tucson shooting speech was perfect in tone and content ....screw that talking heads opinions on that one

Here is Beck’s take on the media’s failed witch hunt. It’s funny.
His question is “who writes that many e-mails while thinking they are private, and manages to not have any, not even one!, offensive message.”
Liberals hate good and love evil.
That's fine. Obama is free to choose not to enter.
