His kids are obnoxious loud mouths, they get that from Ozzie. We have a bad reputation on the South Side but I really don't care, nor does any other White Sox fan. We played second fiddle to the Cubs until 2005 when we actually won a title, now people aren't going to Wrigley!!! :D
Bad news for me, I have yet to go to a Sox game above 60 degrees and I have Season Tickets!!!
I was there Saturday when Lilibridge leaped at the fence and pulled back a sure homer that would have given the A’s the win - a whale of a game. And yeah, it was a tad cold then too.
Love Ozzie - and he’s got a South Sider’s vocabulary, even though one can seldom understand exactly what he’s saying!
I know exactly what you mean about the South Side. To me, the spirit that is Chicago burns bright in the neighborhoods, not in the Gold Coast. Wrigley for awhile became a fashionable place to go, even if you didn't care squat about baseball. It was a better place when Ernie said “Let's play two”. It got tiresome to hear some North Siders look down their nose at White Sox fans and the South Side.
