Doing so might create a “dent” in the magnetic field of the corona that might reverberate enough to affect the internal magnetic field of the Sun.

It's difficult to perceive the size of the Sun and the immense energy it unleashes every second. A million Earths can fit inside the Sun. The Sun's diameter is 1,000 X that of Earth. I would imagine a 1,000MT bomb would have the same effect as a grain of sand hitting Mt Everest.

Yes, but it’s not the blast, heat, or radiation that would have any effect.

Have you ever heard the electromagnetic pulse model, that if a nuke was set off high over Kansas, it would knock out most electronics in the entire US? Any wire would act like an antenna, getting a massive overcharge in it.

The magnetic field of the Sun’s corona is only 13-50 Gauss. 50G is about the same strength as a refrigerator magnet.

But the intent here is a ripple in a pond effect
