ALL of the media (and Dems) want Romney.
Quite simply, it takes ObamaCare off the table, which is HUGE. Therefore, no matter what he says in a debate he scores 0% among conservatives.

The polls were right about one thing Bachmann slammed last night. She is now the one to beat. Unfortunately for me and other Freepers Cain was weak last night - too general, not enough direct response. He didn’t seem as up on the issues as any of the other candidates sorry to say.

Bachmann made a mistake by using that forum to announce her candidacy. As a result, this morning, the newsies are glossing over it.

She should have, as most candidates do, called a presser, which would have received national coverage. That would have given her an opportunity and forum to state many of her positions on major issues.

Cain. He muddled his response to his previous comment about not having a Muslim in his Cabinet. He may be okay on economic/home issues, but he is extremely weak in foreign relations. With the continuing threats of terrorism and numerous international conflicts ongoing, he needs a lot more studying to get up to day.

Pawlenty did well. Some of his responses did sound ‘canned’ and over-rehersed.

==

Santorum was surprisingly strong, but unconvincing. Losing his Senate seat and some of the politicians he has supported are heavy negatives.

==

Gingrich was Gingrich. He says good things, then sticks both feet in his mouth.

Romney continues to try to distance himself from Romneycare/Obamacare. Sorry, Mitt, Romneycare is stuck on you. Even Obama admitted it was the basis for his own Obamacare. You can’t praise one and decry the other.
