Rep. Anthony Weiner's Nissan Pathfinder is unregistered, DMV says

Lying about sexting apparently isn't Rep. Anthony Weiner's only gray area.
When Weiner (D-Queens, Brooklyn) was photographed by the Daily News fleeing the Capitol in his Nissan Pathfinder, it was clear the July 2007 registration sticker in his window was expired, and there was no inspection sticker to be seen. Weiner, through a staffer, said the 1988 Nissan Pathfinder was registered in New York State.
Not so, said the state Department of Motor Vehicles.
The New York license plate bolted on Weiner's Pathfinder - US Congress 9 - had expired as of 2006, according to the DMV.
"That license plate should not be on a car," a DMV spokeswoman said. It wasn't even issued to the Pathfinder, but to another one of Weiner's cars, a Honda, according to vehicle records.
Valid plates were issued to Weiner's Pathfinder, but they don't have the helpful words "US Congress" on them, and so look less official. It's unclear what happened to those plates.
Driving a car with expired plates, let alone those pulled off another vehicle, meant Weiner's Pathfinder was unregistered, according to the DMV.

Psychopathic liar and serial law breaker.
I see a Low Speed Chase in his future, accompanied by many tear-eyed threats of suicide.
(If the undies don’t fit, you must acquit!)
Pull him over. Today. And tow the car. Today.
An 88 Pathfinder? That’s surprising. My wife had a 91 Pathfinder. Had 250K miles on it when the body became so rusted she had to junk it. Now she drives an 01 Xterra. But I would have expected a different vehicle for Weinerman.
This is what happens when private and public morality split. You really can't have one without the other.
This guy is toast. I just wonder what the politics are behind it. I know Weiner opposed O on the pre-67 war border issue. Honestly, though, I don't think that is it. I think it is as simple as the Dems wanting to get this guy as far away from Washington as possible before the 2012 elections.
He is done. This story seems like a little extra incentive to get him to quit.
Me too...

drip, drip, drip
Yet another above-the-law congressman.
Simple solution -
Boot the vehicle and charge Weiner with operating an unregistered vehicle.
Oh. and while we’re at it, have NY DMV run a check on his drivers license. Probably expired too.
He should incur major fines at least. How about suspending his license? Whatever happens, I hope it costs him a lot of money. He has some nerve berating other people about their behavior.
The Libs (media and Dems) remember how damaging Mark Foley was to the GOP Congress. Moreover, they probably have a few more "Foley's" waiting to spring on us before the next election and want to get this one of theirs out of the news (and by extension out of the public consciousness) as soon as possible.
Where is his money going? This guy is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Oh yeah, I think it already happened!
“This is what happens when private and public morality split. You really can’t have one without the other.”
No. Contrast Weiner’s texting with Palin’s emails. There it is.
Weiner exposed...yet again.
This is worse than driving around with a expired tag.
Laws are for the little people.
The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government
lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.
- Patrick Henry
Congressional Reform Act of 2011
1. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
Very good.
Please add Term Limits.
That ALONE, will cure many of our ills.
Have a little sympathy people. Putting fake plates on an unregistered car is an illness. The man needs treatment.
The gift that keeps on giving. But the truth is I’d bet you can dig up stuff like this on most members of congress. They only make the laws. They don’t have to obey them.
