Gov. Chris Gregoire is not running for re-election according to sources close to the governor.

Gregoire’s office sent out a press release early Monday morning saying she’s holding a press conference at the governor’s mansion at 10 a.m. to “announce her future plans.”

Gregoire said last week she’d meet with her family over the weekend before making a decision on whether to run for re-election. Gregoire was first elected in 2004 and is in her second term.

Many political observers had not expected her to seek a third term. Democratic U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee has been positioning himself for a run if Gregoire steps aside.

Washington state Attorney General Rob McKenna, a Republican, announced last week that he plans to run for governor.

SCHNIPP

I’d say that’s worth at least a high-five and a head-bump...

Rob McKenna, our brave Attorney General is running for governor. Rob McKenna signed on to the Florida law suit against Obamacare, knowing that the Democrat Governor and state legislature would not approve. The man has guts and integrity to go along with it.

Rob McKenna for WA state Governor!

I will be very surprised if Rossi has the sense to sit this one out. He is the Harold Stassen of Evergreen State politics.

I believe that Gregoire was in DC just last week, meeting with Sebelius and others. My guess is that she’s “movin’ on up, up to DC, that is. Maybe a labor job. She’s sure bought and paid for by the unions.

I predict she'll be indicted soon.

This leaves the door open for the carpet bagger, Jay Inslee. He was first elected to congress claiming he and his family roots were from the Yakima Valley. After he was thrown out in 94 as a one termer who voted for Clinton’s assualt weapons ban, he moved back to the real family homestaed on Bainbridge Island, where he has been elected to the congress again.

I argued with him over the Assault Weapons ban one day after I seen him standing on the street waving his re-election sign. He was standing there all by himself on a busty street corner and no one was honking or waving to him. He should have had a clue then that he would be losing.

You’re just a bit over the top shoveling praise on McKenna.

He’s a reasonably good AG, however he isn’t very good delivering on campaign promises...can you remember his first campaign for AG when he promised he’d clean up the mess at DSHS? Well, I’m still waiting. There are other lost promises too, this DSHS issue is the biggest.

I’m also very upset with Mr. McKenna’s selective involvement with issues, he’s not consistent. If you notice, Rob only plays if it pays for him.

Unfortunately, McKenna is probably the best we’ll have to choose from in this next gubernatorial contest. I certainly am glad to hear Fraudoire isn’t going to run for re-election. I can’t stand Inslee, he was my congresscritter until I moved out of his district two years ago.

I’m rather sick of the politico’s here in Washington. We’ve been under the boot of one party dictatorship for such a long time that our sides warriors are confused and can’t seem to find any voice that would position them into the front of the class.

Frankly, I like McKenna because he had the guts to buck the power structure in Olympia and sign on to that law suit. It was inspiring and empowering to Republicans across the state of WA. McKenna was the reason that the Republicans were able to make such gains last year.

Now, I am afraid the the state Republican Party is getting ready to abandon McKenna to support Mitt Romney. The two are actually mutually exclusive. The Whatcom County Republican politicians have been making statements supporting the SEIU and a proposal the Dough Eriksen said would, “keep the profits out of the hands of private insurers.”

McKenna is Gregoire-lite. He sabotaged the election challenge in 2004. He claimed he had no authority to investigate election fraud and that was a lie. He wanted Rossini to lose so he could run himself. He’s also a liberal.

Merry Christmas to All - even the shameful Gov Gregoire

After this year, there will no longer be a Nativity scene in the Washington state Capitol building.

Glenn Beck can still claim he’s from the State, right?
Him or Capt Scott Walker.
